ZeldaQueen: Right, next chapter! And…we’re moving on to the honeymoon! Well, maybe something interesting will actually happen. And maybe buckets of ravioli and nuggets of gold will fall from the sky.

I kinda love this chapter, mostly for the same reason it makes me uneasy. Is it me or is SMeyer's insistence on marriage before sex and sex before vamping a little bit...off?
And anyway Eddykins, what happened to Bella's human vulnerability? Just because you two are married there's less chance of you breaking her compared to, say, yesterday? Two weeks ago? I smell an author on board with some warped ideas.

I kind of like it if only because we never really find out what happens exactly during the sex scenes (and indeed Bella and Edward don't seem too sure themselves), so we just catch up to them in the morning going "Okay, so why are there huge holes in the wall and Cool Whip on the ceiling?" Kind of like "The Hangover". I personally found the second sex night funnier, just because they don't fight but just act kind of loopy and confused.

/As she goes to get out of the boat, Edward scoops her up and carries her inside, apparently unable to wait for her to walk to the door. She’s not a baby! Stop carrying her everywhere! Oh, and it actually says that he was “cradling [her] in one arm” while carrying the bags in another. That’s nice. Now he’s actually using terms associated with children to describe him carting her around ( ... )

Bella sort of did remember, but she just remembered Edward gripping her arms a bit more tightly than usual. I just find it hard to believe that she would be so bruised and only feel mildly sore. There's a difference between exercise and bruising.

And yeah, it's really sick. I honestly don't know how Meyer doesn't realize how nasty this all is. Does she and her husband secretly engage in S&M sex or something?

Not to defend the Twilight or anything, but it is possible, especially if you're very pale, to get big, colorful bruises that don't hurt much and are really only superficial. I'm like that. Sometimes I just look down and there's a bruise, and I'm like, "Huh. How did that get there?"

On the other hand, if Bella bruised that easily along with being as clumsy as she's portrayed, she would be a solid mass of black and blue at all times. So Stephenie Meyer gets no points.

Sorry for the super-late comment. I've been reading through your recaps, and they're excellent.

Oh, I didn't know that! Thanks! ^^

But yeah, I've heard people point out before that if Bella was as pale and bruised so easily as all that and was so clumsy, her mom should have been investigated for child abuse or she should have been taken for a serious doctor's visit long before any of these books happen.

That's okay. I'm glad you like them! Thanks for reading :)

Are you KIDDING ME? I figured the reason the girls all love this pile of shit, is because at least there's awesome vampire and chicky action (aka, hot, steamy sex). But this whole, (to hear the fans tell it) sweeping epic build up of this (to hear the fans tell it) perfect, True Love Romance(tm) leads to... Nothing. She skips the sex scene. She doesn't even use vague and safe euphemisms to describe it (with words like "flower" and "stamen" and "piledriving power drill ( ... )

I just found the black out hilarious. Seriously, Meyer doesn't even give us asterisks or something to mark the passage of time. It's just like "hit enter twice, cue characters taking note of the state of the headboard".

By the way, I dunno how you, Hyde, and Mervin can plow through this shit and still keep your sanity. Mad props madam. Mad props indeed.
