I love those little gems. Those are enough to justify this book's existence, in my opinion. They just make me giggle like a schoolgirl. XD How did Meyer missed all of them? It's like Eclipse's subtext of Edward having a small penis and being subconcious about it.(Yes, I can totally make that sentence make sense using canon)

About Victoria, that completely pissed me off. I'm with you all the way there. Why does every single female in this series goes around throwing tantrums? Can't we have a level headed one? And Bree describing her as a kid just made me groan harder! This is the girl who goes around pretending to be a ninja, forming BFF clubs and secret handshakes. You have no right to call Victoria a child, you twat! No wonder Diego love Riley more than you.

"No wonder Diego love Riley more than you."

XD Dude, you made me laugh while I had a toothbrush in my mouth.

And yeah, if she just did it with one character, I could understand it. Like Jane. Jane's in the body of a child, which would imply that she's limited to a child's temperament, and seems to be rather used to getting her way. I could buy her being the sort to throw tantrums. Victoria's spent the entire series thus far being stealthy, clever, sneaky, and certainly never seemed to be in the body of a child. So why the flip would she sound and act like one?

Well, you should know better before reading my stuff. :P

If she only did it with Jane I would also be ok, but it's not. Every female vampire is a whiny brat. Even Esme in this book did a big one. It annoyed the hell out of me.

Not surprised with the movie. Every Twilight movie is better than the book. Yes, they suck in their own way, but way less than the books.

XD You're right.

I know, what the heck? Hello Meyer, self-loathing much?

I guess it's because people who actually understand and empathize write the things. Ah well, at least some good stuff comes of this series.

That excerpt explains so much. When I saw Eclipse in the theater, I literally laughed out loud when Bryce Dallas Howard started talking in that annoying baby voice. I could not understand why they made her do that - who's scared of a villain who sounds like they're four? Now I understand! I guess it's a good thing they tried to stay close to the source material, but it was still seriously ridiculous.

Maybe that's why they fired the first girl, cause her voice is too grown-up?

I personally got the feeling in the movie that Victoria was just trying to sound sweet and vulnerable to get Riley's guard down. If that had been what Meyer was doing here, that might have been kind of neat.

According to Wikipedia, they dropped the first actress because of scheduling conflicts. If they did get rid of her because she sounded too mature...well that's just messed up.

You're right, it was scheduling conflicts, though I know I lot of people assumed it was cause Howard is a bigger name and a more popular actress. Personally, I much preferred Lefevre, because even with her non-speaking role in New Moon I got the sense that she could seriously mess these people up.

I just found Lefvre interesting because my first thought was "Hey! It's Stacy from 'Big Wolf On Campus'!" XD She was great in New Moon though, just running around and doing weird cartwheels over stuff. ^^

God dammit Meyer! Why does every female villain have to be petulant and whiney? Cant the fairer sex have at least one cool, suave, magnificent bitch or are we just not cut out for the task?

Is it just me, or does Bree's re-evaluation of Fred remind you of "And then I remembered Jacob Black was my friend." (New Moon)? Why are we supposed to like our protagonists when they are nothing but manipulative bitches who manipulate men into satisfying their wants and desires?
Do you think it's because Meyer can't write any differently?

I think so. I'm reminded of a comment made on "Mark Reads New Moon", when someone mused that Meyer wasn't even trying to put so much Mormon stuff in it, she just was going by her moral compass.

My guess is that either Meyer really has a messed up view of the world and doesn't realize how bratty and awful her characters are, or she thinks that she's capturing how teenagers act. If it's the latter, that might explain things like why no one just calls their parents "Mom" and "Dad" or that bit in New Moon where Bella acts like her Dad was horrified to have to help wash her.

I miss strong female characters. Where's Tex when you need her? Not only was she the sole source of competancy for the first five seasons, she stood her ground against Washington and the Meta at the same time, to the point where it's clear she could have won in a fair fight. Not to mention the ass-kicking she handed out to the reds and Tucker.
