I know. I absolutely loath angsty Harrys. The reason I liked him in canon was that he was hurt and scared and upset, but did the right thing anyway because he couldn't live with himself if he didn't.

Blah, I say!

This is the most ridiculously over-the-top dark, angsty Harry I have ever seen. I don't understand how authors can think people will actually like a character devoid of any redeeming qualities.

The sad part is, no matter how bad a fic is, there will always be reviews saying "This is great! I can't wait for the next chapter!"

Dude, this thing has a million reviews saying how great it is, and how the Suethor should totally finish it (it was abandoned, by the Suethor's own admission). It's astonishing, really. O_o

I'm not entirely sure. Probably stowed him away in a Plot Hole while he pretended to be Harry and murdered everyone he didn't like.

I thought the Ministry didn't know about the Dark Mark until the second war. That was how innocents got thrown in jail. Hermione said at one point it would be obvious Sirius wasn't a Death Eater because he didn't have the Mark, which means they couldn't have had that test before.

Apologies for the late reply. ^^;

I don't know if it was specifically stated if they knew or not, but when they arrested Sirius, they just really wanted to lock him up and thus gave him no trial or chance to prove his innocence (Rowling said on her website that he offered to drink the Truth Potion and answer their questions). It's not impossible that they knew about the Dark Mark but simply didn't bother to check him for it.

It's implausible that they knew about the Dark Mark, though--it would have broken a lot of people's "under a spell" claims to bits, besides clearing Sirius and probably a few others.

Ah, I see what you're saying. Yeah, good point.

Somehow, in my mind, part of the interrogation scene played out as:
"Have you ever lied in a report?"

"Yes."

"About what?"

"About the spells I used, about the valuable collected…"

"What valuables?"

Tavinish hesitated, then gave a weak grin. "A Nose-Biting Teacup... a Fanged Frisbee or two... oh, and some Frog Spawn Soap."

Only Evil!Harry would go all Jack Bauer on him then, I guess.
