[The sudden appearance of the floating imp is more than enough to disturb a finicky horse. For a minute or so the rancher works to calm the animal back down.]
Festivities... [Did she mean the battle? Link rubs the horse's nose as he gathers his thoughts.] Do.. you mean Ganon's trespass..?

No, I meant the afternoon tea he held for the princesses. Of course I meant his little tax stunt!
[Ignoring those horse troubles, sorry. D: In any event, this reaction gets a facepalm. Ah, right, almost forgot. Generally speaking, humor is wasted on this one.]
[When the wolf comes careening on in, Link has to quickly shift his weight so as not to be thrown off his feet. That's a damn big wolf, after all. Unfortunately, the sight of the animal does more than that-
The large gray horse beside the Hero whinnies loudly and rears, its eyes wide with fright. With a toss of its head it yanks the reins from Link's fist, and quickly gallops back into the makeshift stable to escape. Link throws a look after it, to make sure the horse escapes cleanly and without harming anything (or one) around. And with the horse cowering in the stable, Link hesitates, and then drops into a slow kneel in front of the wolf. This is one of the Heroes, of course.]
...What are you running from? [He looks at the wolf with a soft frown, although his eyes are kind. His gaze moves to the front gates of Kakariko to check if the wolf was being followed, but.... nothing. He looks back to the wolf-Link, as if awaiting an answer.]
[The wolf's response startles Link, and he loses his balance and falls the short distance back onto his rear. He scoots back some, defensively, expecting the animal to charge forward - anticipating the worst. Could he be wrong? Was this not one of the Heroes?
Or perhaps-- could he not understand?]
[He struggles for a moment to think of the best thing to do, before finally just doing the first thing that came to mind.]
I.....It's okay- [He reassures, voice heavy with uncertainty. He didn't know what was wrong with this Link, this wolf.] I won't hurt you- nobody in this place will. [He raises a hand, palm facing the wolf, as if to somehow convey his disinterest in fighting]
