[Either the tree several feet at Sheik's flank is laughing at him, or someone's intruding upon the spy's spoken thoughts.]

I'll say.

[A swish of branches and crackling of snapping twigs signals an abrupt descent, quickly followed by one of the young heroes landing a few feet to Sheik's left. He stands up, grins, and proceeds to pull a twig or two out his hair.]

You probably just got here, right? Who are you? Di- [He hesitates, and squints at Sheik's profile- notably, the lack of certain Hylian...er...accouterments.] You're not a Hylian...?

[She He turns sharply at the sound of laughter, nearly ready to draw his weapon. Sheik stops, however, when there's a lack of bullets flying in his direction.]

[Not wearing red. Violence won't be necessary - for now. More bizarre than the color of Link's wardrobe is the clothing itself. And - those ears. Sheik frowns beneath the mask, both critical and cautious.]

I beg your pardon.

[The soles of his shoes are still glowing blue, the peculiar light leaving a trail when he takes a step back. Ah, the aesthetic perks of using a teleporter.]

[What. What is this. Link's been to some islands and seen all kinds of people wearing all kinds of things, but none as.... snazzy strange as this. It seemed so... clean.

So, uh, hi. The kid's staring at you now. Big. Eyes.]

Teleporter?

[Sheik looks around - then down.]

[Holy shit this kid is adorable has huge eyes. And what's with those ears? Don't get him started on the clothes.]

Teleporter. [he replies simply, pointing a bandaged finger down to the odd blue glow beneath his shoes - an aftereffect from using a machine far too advanced for Hyrule. Sheik's still got a hold of the knife, keeping it hidden in his suit pocket.]

[Okay, he totally did not notice the glow. He does now, and he jumps away from the guy in surprise. When nothing bad seems to happen -- like, idk, the guy suddenly sprouts evil, glowing arms and starts to attack -- he crouches down to get a better look.]

What does it do?

[Link's reaction causes Sheik to smile very faintly behind the mask.]

Transports people quickly from one location to another in a near-instant.

This wasn't where I was meant to go... [he mutters to himself, scanning the field once more. He's too far - much too far. The previous area Sheik was in was a goddamn desert.]

[lowering himself to one knee so that he's closer to Link's eye level] Where is this?

[blue_motormouth]

[Not all of that blue light is residual energy, if Sheik happened to look up. The fairy won't be announcing herself yet, as she is currently enraptured by the biggest sparkly blue entrance she has ever seen.]

[It's just so... so shiny.]

[Red-brown eyes turn skyward, looking for the source of that noise. Did Sheik... hear something?]

[What the heck is that ball of blue light? Looks like a piece of Engie's teleporter broke off.]

(ooc: It's so good to see you again! ;-;)

[Oh, whoops, spotted. She jolts a little in the air and does a swirl, snapping herself out of it.]

Oh, um... sorry! It's just that looked so neat and I've never seen a Sheik zoom in like that before your clothes look really nice 'specially now that it's getting cold that's real smart of you were you looking for something?

[She drifts down as she talks, hovering a few feet away at eye level. It's polite to not make people hurt their necks, she's told.]

[Wh-what the hell. This thing talks. It talks faster than Scout. And it knows his "name". Sheik is shocked to silence as he watches the blue ball hover lower and lower.

When Navi's within reasonable reach, Sheik makes a swipe at her with one bandaged hand, attempting to make a catch for closer inspection.]
