nothing but the sound of a breeze

[The calm of a Castletown afternoon is broken by a sudden gust of wind that vanishes as quickly as it began. In its place, a young man dressed in purple slumps against the base of the fountain. Beside him, a small stuffed bat with a single red eye lands on the stone lip, focused entirely on the man.]

Master okay...?It will take more than that to ( Read more... )

[Aifor is slowly looping the main square, checking each street as it passes. It sees a vaguely person-like figure and doubles back to check. It thinks it's a person, anyway. The figure is moving.

[It will just go see. It starts down the street, flying close to the buildings to try and stay hidden.]

[The figure moves like a person, so it must be a person. Aifor doesn't know why the figure keeps ducking towards the building. Is it hiding like it's trying to do?

[Maybe the figure is hiding. Aifor glides a little closer to the edge of the buildings but continues to fly towards the person. It doesn't know enough to tell Master about the person yet, so it needs to find out more.]

[There is a soft tinkling of bells meandering up and down the streets, accompanied by light footsteps when they get closer. Along one alley they pause, and shifting of boxes can be heard.]

Hmm... can't eat tha-eww did that mold move? I wonder if potion goes bad...

[Straightening, the girl holds up the green vial to the light and shrugs, tucking it away. The satchel and belled anklets are also fruits of today's window shopping, as well as the smudges of dirt on her hands and freckled nose.]

[Oooh, it hears something pretty. Aifor flies down the alley towards the noise, wondering what it is. She's carrying stuff, whoever she is.

[Did she say potion? Master needs potion. Aifor squeaks softly and starts flying towards her, staying close to the buildings but not otherwise trying to hide itself.]

[ooc: sorry 'bout that. >.>;]

[She has stopped to peer into a shop window, hands pressed against the glass. It looks like mostly paper and books; those she can find in the library.]

[So absorbed in her task, it isn't until she turns around that she catches something flying out of the corner of her eye. With a squeak, she jumps backwards and steps on a can, sending her firmly on her backside.]

H-hey I'm not afraid of you leave me alone!

[It squeaks in surprise at the sudden noise and motion and backs away, wings beating rapidly.]

I not hurt you! I not scary. [Not intentionally, anyway.] I sorry...

[Hm. This city is only mostly empty, honey. See? There's one of the few confirmed residents, now, carrying a basket of groceries back to her bar.

[She stops when she spots the stranger. ...No, not "stranger". She's seen a young man with purple skin and hair before, hasn't she? Months ago, in Kakariko? Might not be the same person, though, and either way, she can't recall the name. Regardless, it's a potential customer, yes?]

Good morning! [She approaches, not spotting anyone or anything unusual other than the young man.] New in town, honey, or just visiting?

[He snaps his head up and scowls slightly. Where was Aifor, and why didn't it warn him someone was this close? There was the possibility she managed to avoid his watcher. Of course she avoided it; it wouldn't have continued away from him if it had seen her. No matter.

[He shifts slightly, working himself into less of a slump and more of a sit, moving carefully so not to aggravate his side further.]

I don't find it particularly good.

[It should be no surprise that nobody spotted her. Under the shade of the vendor stands and with so many wares hanging off the support posts, anything smaller than a Moblin could be hidden.]

Oh? And why is that?

[Something's off about that boy. His manners leave some to be desired, yes, but more than that, the way he's moving...]

...Are you alright, honey? [Is he sick? Hurt? If this IS the boy from Kakariko, Telma's obligated to look after him, more so than most. Those folks DID try to stop that mess at the castle, and it's been fairly quiet since.]

[He raises an eyebrow.] I don't find it good because it isn't good.

I'm fine. I merely need to catch my breath. [It's a lie, of course, but it's a nice convenient one.]

[He might as well see if she's seen Aifor. He also considers calling the little watcher back; there's not much point of it looking around if he's already been found.] I don't suppose you've seen anything odd around here today?
