A butler with nothing to do... Wahhh!

Aug 26, 2009 11:11

[The spirit-butler of the now-clean wooden door stood underneath the shelter of his master's cabin, the place that had been his home for more years than he could count. The man was semi-transparent to the eye, he shouldn't have even been outside his door without duties to do... But it had been so long now since his master had returned.

He looked ( Read more... )

[Hi, guess who overheard you.]

It's not fun to watch people drown.

[His body instantaneously faced towards Link, tensing in shock at the surprise of his master's appearance.]

M-Master!

[His posture quickly returned to normal as he hurriedly posed himself back to his usual calm look, coughing and continuing his speech.]

Of course, Master, it is just an old-time hobby of mine. I shall not induce in it any further in the future.

[Link nearly facepalmed. Oh, geez, that's right. He owns an oasis now, thanks to that teacher. It was hard to remember, since he wasn't used to it and didn't really go there that much.]

I didn't mean-- [What did he mean, then? It really wasn't good to watch people drown for fun, but if the door was bored, the door was bored amirite?] --maybe you can do something else? Are there that many people drowning near here?

[The Butler kept his posture but raised a brow a little by habit.]
Of course not Master, I had finished every chore last Tuesday. And the last person who drowned was what looked like a fairy... She was taken under by an octorok, but besides from the few, no, not many people drown.

[He stood still staring down at Link, a little mumble escaping his lips]
You're rather puny, Master.

I've seen a lot of things and drowning is one of the only ones that entertain me, so yes, yes I do want to see somebody drown.

That's, a little horrifying... [She ponders for a moment, before giving the door a smile]

Have you ever heard an Ocarina?

[He looks down upon the girl in green in thought, she reminds him of his master for some off reason. As long as she doesn't touch his door or try to enter the cabana then he won't snap at her, even though he isn't in the best of moods.]

Indeed, I have seen many of them the course of my past! Small things, a lot like you but even more minute, they play quite the melodious tune.

[His voice was low and dragged along, as if he were already bored with such petty chatter... Oh wait, he was.]

[He turns once again with a shock, a frown settling upon his now pursed lips.]

What is it with so many people appearing today?! Can't a butler get some alone time these da-

[He stops mid-sentence and lays his eyes upon the odd-looking being, raising a brow in interest; never in all his wanderings has he encountered someone like this.]

Eh-HEM. It's entertaining because there happens to be nothing else to do around here, to answer your question.

[Ooc: My take on the butler door can actually leave his door in a spirit form, like he is now... He's not actually meant to, but since Link took over the Oasis he hasn't been as obedient as before. But depending on the light he can or can not be seen.~

And thank-you for the welcome! It's nice to find somewhere I can bring this one to be around his own canon! And I'm having fun already!]

[His eyes thin a little at the idea of once again exploring the high seas and having his freedom, the thought saddened him slightly inside.]

No idea on whether it's come to your attention or not, but I'm a butler, I cannot just toddle off like a wandering Poe.

[ooc; I'm glad.~ I wasn't sure if people would be a bit 'Oh, not canon' with him for that, but honestly there really isn't much I can do with someone stuck inside a door.
If you have any spare time and you're interested, I wrote this last night. It's the basic background of how my definition of how the butler-door came to be.~]
