[The fairy boy had told Zelda about his home. She and Sheik had ventured further into the forest in search of the village of the Kokiri. They had passed by little tree houses, all empty; where were the children?
There was one sense of grief in seeing Hyrule on the brink of darkness, and there was another in seeing it deprived of life.
From a safe distance away, one Sheikah regards the Great Deku Tree with a sense of silent awe. Blood red eyes are just barely able to catch a glimpse of tall branches and what looked like an outline of a face. It was from this great being that Link was able to obtain the Emerald... Zelda had thanked him, but not the Deku Tree. She wants to.
But Sheik is a cautious observer, and so for now, they stay back.]
[he doesn't notice the other presence until he hears the soft murmur from the Deku Tree. Dropping his gaze from the canopy he looks around for the other person only to come up empty.
No, wait, was that set of blue suppose to be there?]
[moving from his reclined position up to a sitting one, Link just stares at the figure until his brain finally manages to put a name to the shape]
[there's a myriad of thoughts going through his head, mostly memories, some errant thoughts (and while he never hated this place as much as the others trapped here, for a moment, it felt as if he could sympathize). But there was nothing to prove that this was Sivan and not some other Sheik that had been brought here.
After all, how many Sheiks had he encountered here already?
When the Sheikah walks forward, Link frowns lightly. Something was off...]
[There is a faint whirring sound that filters through the trees, gradually becoming louder. The source eventually makes itself known as Makar appears, hovering high above the ground, near the forest canopy, gently weaving between trunks as he hangs on to the stem of a spinning leaf. Coming into the clearing of the Great Deku Tree, he suddenly lets go of the leaf and plops to the earth nearby Link. The leaf, no longer spinning, drifts gently down after him.]
Oh my. [Makar looks up at the great tree with awe.] Could this be...?
((ooc: hope you don't mind a Makar. he was heading to the woods anyhow.))
[he looks up at the whirring noise, trying to pinpoint where it was coming from. It takes a while before he notices the Korok's movement but it takes another minute or two for him to put a name to the leaf face newcomer]
Oh! [Makar starts slightly as the stranger speaks, barely having noticed his presence.] How rude of me! I am--er, yes, that is my name. How did you know?
[He looks up at the man curiously. He seems a liiittle familiar, but Makar, having no experience with adult Links, does not immediately recognize him.]
[The village had been sad, compared to the lively forest. Still dappled beneath the trees, sunlit against the sky, the stream meandering lazily between the little buildings, but it had seemed devoid of life with the Kokiri and their fairies gone. Even his initial exploration of the village back in his own time, the village infested with unpleasantries, had seemed less deserted.]
[The path Sheik and his companion take now is one unfamiliar to him, and the quiet conversation stops as Sheik steps out in to the clearing. The Deku Tree - Zelda had told him about it, but she had never seen it with her own eyes.]
[There's a power to it all on its own, as odd as that sounds to describe what is essentially a large piece of sentient wood. He can feel it all the way at the edge of the clearing.]
[Glancing back to his companion, he hasn't quite noticed the Hero amongst its roots yet.]
((OOC: Hi ^_^ Tagging in with crystallinesong - do you want to reply first, then her, then back to me?))
[Link's started to drift off again. Without having to worry about monsters attacking, and with the familiar feeling of the Great Deku Tree's magic, he wasn't as wary as he normally would have been...
For the time being, he doesn't notice the two Sheikahs (or... one and a half Sheikah and a Princess?) standing at the edge of the clearing]
[ooc: It might be easier going in_to_shadow, crystallinesong and then me, but we can change the order next round.]
[asdklfj You can post next unless Sheiky wants to say something? I don't really mind, AU won't notice anything until one of the Sheiks say anything...]

Sheik...

The stranger knew his name - their name.
Rather than slip back into the shadows, Zelda takes a few steps forward. Her shadow makes sure that she says nothing aloud despite her curiosity.]

[he laughs quietly before replying to the sage] Just a hunch. Did you want to speak with the Deku Tree?
