Like hot springs, only not hot. And not springs.

[It's been a particularly cold night, and the morning dawns bright and cold. Snow thickly blankets the grass that surrounds Lake Hylia, and the lake itself has been frozen, at least a metre deep, in to a smooth, glassy surface ( Read more... )

[THERE ARE KNIVES. ON MY FEET.]

[WHY ARE THERE KNIVES ON MY FEET.]

[(Oh, yes. There is a little imp out on the ice, all bundled up in winter paraphernalia and dotting very hard at the surpraize!ice skates.)]

[The morning is particularly strange this morning - muffled and sharpened both. Sheik sleepily pokes his head out of his cave like a turtle - and immediately looks surprised.]

[The ice looks thick - at the edge, where the water is its most shallow, it looks frozen straight through. Cautiously, he puts a foot on the ice.]

Waauughh!

[With perhaps the least dignified sound that's ever come out of his mouth, the skates send his feet in opposite directions and land Sheik firmly on his backside. Blushing furiously (and hoping that his mishap went unseen and unheard), he carefully - carefully! - gets to his feet, wobbling dramatically ( ... )

[Having not yet found her Zelda, or, indeed, any Zelda to attach herself to, Impa had discovered she had something she was rather unsure what to do with: free time.

She resolved to use it to get to know the feel of the place. It was Hyrule, she was certain - or at least it was on the surface. The castle remained where it was; Kakariko remained where it was, and Lake Hylia remained where it was.

One thing that was not the same was the sudden addition of bladed boots to the person who wandered close to it. Those close by would have been granted the rare sight of Impa losing her footing. Her balance and grace was restored shortly after, but she couldn't help but feel that someone (read: Nabooru) would have killed to have seen that.

Fortunately, she wasn't here.]

[She'd ventured out again, alone - per usual. She almost preferred it that way, while she was quite content conversing with Zelda-Rose (the woman was friendly and helpful, and someone Zelda could eventually consider a friend), she felt very out of place here. She'd always been a loner anyway. So, it was time to do some exploring. She'd stumbled upon the frozen lake, and, thinking to venture out and test its solidity (why, she doesn't know), Zelda is quite horrified to find blades suddenly attatched to her boots, causing her to slip and slide across the ice. She caught her balence before hitting the hard ice, then grinned up beneath a crooked black hood. This was fun.]

[Well, this is nostalgic, is it not? Admittedly, it was Zora's Domain he watched freeze over (kick them in, ignore Koume's grousing about the cold, steer Ganondorf away so you can drag Ruto out, kill the one that comes at you to waylay the Black King and seize Ruto and ride)rather than the lake, but it still gives him an unpleasant chill, and not because of the cold. Testing the old warp songs took him to the hot springs and now it has brought him here, however ( ... )
