Slashgropers Xmas 2007

Dec 02, 2007 23:40

Another excellent slashgropers1 Christmas party today. I realised after I got home that this year was No. 5 for me. Our party is one of the three key parts of my Christmas, the other two being reading DS Seekrit Santa and Yuletide and spending Christmas afternoon at my mother's with my sister and brother-in-law ( Read more... )

We've got a nice group here, some of whom have been meeting regularly for more than 10 years. Or maybe closer to 15? The day an old school friend of mine introduced me to them was a lucky day for me! It was like an instant social life, just add water!

You are all so bouncy and joyful looking. I wish I could have been there.

Warm weather, good food, fun company - what's not to be joyful about? We've got it pretty good over here, distant as we are from everyone else. (My mother's from Colorado, but I don't think I could handle your winters!)

You must have missed my last post where I bemoaned that everyone else (in the US!) is getting snow except for us! Colorado winters are actually much milder than e.g. Chicago or Boston winters. It's mostly sunny, so although it may snow quite a bit, usually it melts off on all but north-facing slopes.

And ps I was just in email with j_s_cavalcante and we agree you look kinda like Rae. :-)

Anywhere there might be even the possibility of snow is too cold for me! I was born in Ohio, but have been thoroughly spoiled by many years in mostly warm parts of Australia.

I used to wear my hair quite a bit shorter (like here, in the striped top), but I was hardly ever game to wear it sticking straight up! Now I wish I had.

Looks good ;-)

I'm pretty sure I'm not this blonde in person, don't know what happened! It surprised me too.

I asked maharetr who you'd been posting about re the operation and was very sorry to hear.

We should catch up - maybe some dog walking over Christmas?

Mysterious blonde lighting? I like it.

Thanks, Tiger is one of my oldest friends and this has involved more uncertainty and waiting than I'm comfortable with. Oh well, I don't get to choose, just react as best I can.

I would love to catch up - if we plan far enough ahead we might be able to do it too - when are you likely to have some time?

Have checked my diary, which is pretty full up to Christmas! From there things are much quieter until the year-end accounting workload hits in the second week of Jan. There might be a window of opportunity in between (and even after - a bit of dog-walking sounds like a good antidote to accounting)! How does that gel with your schedule?

I like the leaning one! Not a pose you often take.

True, I'm not a natural leaner. But I'm trainable!
