Most of my plants seem to be holding on so far (and I'm hand-watering the ones I'm really attached to), but I don't know what'll happen if they don't get decently soaked at some point this winter. It takes a few weeks of consistent rain for the moisture to soak into the ground and not just run off. The soil where I was planning to plant next weekend isn't wet AT ALL. It's scary!
I figured, though given how dark and scary your stairwell is, I wouldn't be surprised. You should have seen me creeping out last night.
Love you to be there if it's possible, but I don't want to do anything to endanger your complete healing!
I have a nice big wheelbarrow, or maybe you could ride the ride-on mower? Or a horse!! Actually, it's so incredibly dry we could probably just drive you down in the car.
Me too - should be fun. It's going to be so much simpler than last year! I did a test run yesterday - you just put the tip of the shovel against the ground, press, and a hole appears! Who knew it could be so easy.
Nah, I think I'll leave her behind - after last year's efforts chasing Ap around and almost getting kicked in the head, it's probably safer for all concerned if she stays home. She doesn't like being leashed in sight of humans, she tends to chew through the leash.
Oh, that's kind of sad - the dogs were so much fun last year. The neighbours' house is right across from the area we'll be planting, though, and I can envisage things getting kind of interesting.
It is cool - I love it! I have 29 acres with a degraded, salty winter creek (photo from last year; not so much with the water or the green this year, unfortunately) at the back, and I'm trying to revegetate the area around it. We did a small area last year (which you can see here and here if you're interested).

It's dry as very dry thing here too :-/ I've lost quite a few trees and shrubs this year.

Any chance that someone will be able to wheel me down in a wheelbarrow? I can make the little plant-houses this year, instead of wielding the spade.

I'm going to read that as "Wendy is not NOT NOT invited." ...although she does love great dane puppies... :)
I should be available, unless the rain arrives and we're out on the river.

Leash for planting? Then let her loose across the road later?

I got out a map to check where your city is - I assumed it was closer to Florida. You had to travel a long way for your triathlon, then.
