Hi Hun Haven't been able to respond much lately but just wanted to give a quick review to say I,m still reading...still loving it and can't wait for the weekend for your updates.
Thanks sweetie! I've been missing your avatar! Glad you are still there and enjoying... looks like the final chapter this weekend: I really need to get onto my next project and I think if I keep y'all hanging on any longer for h/c and resolution I'll be salted and burned! It'll be a long one...
Pulled another almost all-nighter last night up nursing a baby who would not sleep and got as far as CH22 and just have to say how impressed I am by your writing and plotting and just great balance of darkness and humour and action and emo - so well done.
Loved your use of the ring (and don't like gore, but the imagery was so powerful), felt all chokey at Sam's peaceful resignation that they'll go together when they go and is such a fan of your Kathleen.
I'm going to go out on a limb here (so to speak) and guess that you've given Dean tetanus? Or rather the bear trap has. Sounds like lockjaw to me, very rare, but consideing the age and state of the trap and your dialogue about whether Dean's shots were up to date, sounds likely?
Gee, this comment really took me back to when I was nursing my daughter, who is now 11. She used to feed for hours at night. At the time I was living in London, and she’d wake me at 2am on the dot and time would just drift by until I heard the first overground trains start running again in the distance [I lived in a lovely area of south London, called Dulwich Village, not far from the railroad]. At the time it was exhausting but here she is, a tween. And I what I wouldn’t give to be able to teleport back there just once, and hold her in my arms, and feel like she and I were the only two people on the planet who were awake!
One of the very clear ideas I had going into this story was that Sam would “kill” spirit!Lee [it’s intended to mirror him killing Alastair in S4] and that Dean would kill the wendigo using his ring. In an earlier draft I had him thread the ring onto a rib bone and stab the beastie but went with this version instead because it is so visceral, and so desperate - which is the point they have both reached, with no real
