ikr, it's like... people have different tastes? And like different things? And that's literally all shipping is? It's like if you say you don't like cheesecake and somebody goes "OH MY GOD HAVE YOU EVEN BEEN TO [restaurant that sells cheesecake and other stuff too]"... also I feel like a looooot of people like to overstate how canon their ship is/how much the writer(s) "meant it that way" because that means they're objectively right, right? So when someone else doesn't ship the same thing, they interpret it as the non-shippers saying, "yeah, I saw the same thing and your 'evidence' is weak". Sooooo if they're going to cling to that "no I like this because it's right" idea then the only ways to reconcile that are like, 1)"those other people must not have even read it [because if they had they'd have seen the OBVIOUS EVIDENCE for my CORRECT SHIP and they wouldn't be able to deny it because the EVIDENCE is OBVIOUS]", 2)"those other people aren't reading it RIGHT"/"those other people just don't know what love looks like", 3)"those

Fun fact: calico cats CAN be male, it's just so crazy rare that you will probably never see one. Like, 99% of them are female. Cats genetics is weird.
