So today Alix dropped by and I got to try out his 3DS with the new Kid Icarus game! The 3D effect is kind of fascinating, but it can get sort of headachey and also it's kind of annoying not being able to shift your head a lot

oh God I'm only barely familiar with the Vargas thing at all but Coin-Operated Boy in any iteration always makes me cry headsmacks or no
TELEMAIN AND MORWEN AAAAAAAAAAAAH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah so much loooooooooooove
I'm glad I'm not the only one with way-out-there mental images that aren't anywhere near the descriptions/lack of descriptions given. I have a poor visual imagination for people, so I have a tendency to assign book characters the appearances of video game or anime characters. For the majority of 1997 everyone in every book I read looked like an SNES-era Final Fantasy character. I think Telemain was Crono-based, come to think of it. red hair close enough right I've actually been thinking really hard lately to try to remember what Harry Potter characters "looked" like to me before the movies, since the actors are so ingrained now There were illustrations but not of everyone I KNOW SNAPE WAS A LOT LESS ATTRACTIVE
hahaha SCRIABIN HAS A LOT OF EMOTIONAL PROBLEMS being a figment born of an incredibly emotionally-repressed dude in a life or death situation can have that effect
YAY I'M NOT ALONE IN THAT it always makes it super weird to come across official renditions or even just fanart that differs from my mental picture it's like WHAT NO THAT'S NOT IT AT ALL the crombie one is the one i remember most clearly though for some reason, that was so random. I really have no idea where that came from.
Going to "Men's Rights" websites is not good for my blood pressure. I know that logically there's no point in me getting mad because it won't change how those people think or act, but nonetheless ... it's irritating.
The only people I've ever seen refer to women as "females" in real life were from the army. For some reason they train soldiers to say that instead of "women." Kinda odd.
I must admit that I squealed a little when I saw your Vargas art! I don't know why, but it makes me so happy.
Hahaha I know right, it's like DO I FEEL LIKE GETTING MAD TODAY gotta weigh that decision
Huh that's interesting. :O In my experience on the internet anyone using females should be regarded with skepticism though, haha. It's the favorite word for most PUAs and MRA people.
EDGAR AND SCRIABIN STILL LURKING AROUND THE BACK OF MY MIND nny not so much, i probably should draw him as well at some point but eeeh
People on both sides of the spectrum are equally ridiculous -- both MRA and internet misogynists as well as over-the-top social justice "activists" who really only use the terminology and ideas as a way to bully people. I don't know if you use tumblr that much but certain parts of the site are TEEMING with that kinda stuff.
Because the word "women" makes us sound too human, doncha know.
I would love to see more fics and such of Edgar/Scri/Nny!
After all the goofiness that happens in games like Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton (because both are SO over the top in their own ways), I really find myself enjoying this game.
But I came in without expectations, and I use headphones which helps make everything super audible.
Yea, it's basically anime angel hour, but I've learned to go with the flow so much with these games that I will chuckle (and crack up at least a few times) like a doofus. :B
IT'S REALLY THE CONTROL SCHEME THAT'S KILLING ME RIGHT NOW i dunno if i just have giant hands or what but it just feels so awkward and terrible :O IT'S MAKING IT HARD TO APPRECIATE THE REST OF IT
it is different if nothing else, haha. JUST NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING I GUESS i used to play the old kid icarus a lot i definitely do want to hear more of the soundtrack though
