Fic: Come Crashing In (Merlin RPS - Bradley/Colin)

Unfortunately, I have no good excuse for this, but I blame the script writers and their inexplicable fondness for Arthur restraining Merlin. Because it made me wonder how the boys like filming those scenes. Um. All my gratitude goes to torakowalski, who Brit-picked and criticised in her wonderfully constructive way instead of telling me to stick this story ( Read more... )

I love the slow buildup and how Colin copes with everything. Had to smile about Katie and Angel knowing. They know everything!

One of my biggest complaints about D/s is that there is often this strong element of abuse verging on non-con and I have trouble sensing that the characters actually care about each other. But this story isn't like that at all-it all about the boys developing their relationship and reaching that point where it absolutely is about love and giving each other what they both need. Wonderful, just wonderful.

It didn't hurt that there was some vague sense that Bradley wasn't necessarily all that experienced with being a "dom" personality, but for Colin he would do what he needed to do to have him. It was shockingly sweet!

Yes. Yes to this. I think this story is, in a way, a belated result of planning an epic D/s thing a while back and thus discussing it with quite a few people who actually know what they're talking about. They really drove home the point that in a functioning D/s relationship, the sub should be able to trust the Dom to figure out their unspoken needs. It's not just taking, on the part of the Dom; not at all. So, yes. Non-con is a big no for me.

You picked up on that! This makes me very happy. Yes, in my head, Bradley had had maybe a bit of experience, but more playing, you know, nothing really serious. Part of why Bradley needs Colin to ask is because he's uncertain himself.

Um. GUH. So you are able to write D/s dynamics beautifully in every fandom! I repeat, GUH. With a side of NNNGGH. ♥

As long as the characters allow for that dynamic, yes! *g*
