Arthur takes another step closer, mere inches left between them. “Listen. Merlin.” He keeps his voice low and strong. “I might be ever so slightly in love with you, but I swear to God, if you bugger this up when I know what you’re capable of, I’m going to strangle you.”

Two for the price of one! And also, hee, great gestures are wonderful. Even if they involve not being much of a good son, but nobody's perfect, and Arthur never pretended to be, so. (He's a failboat, of course he can't just talk to Merlin.)

Also, matchmaker!Morgana with her bitchy way of setting Arthur straight, I must admit I'm having a lot of fun with her.
I know. I'm feeling kind of nostalgic already despite not even having finished writing Chp. 8. Huh.
