Gorgeous show, macabre show. I have to say I'm not its biggest fan, and yet for some reason I keep watching. Heh.
I was hooked from the start, the characters and the acting just blew me away especially Dancy who just nailed all the little flinches, ticks, that make Will such a well rounded and believable character.
I couldn't agree more about Dancy/Will.
Mads Mikkelsen takes a different spin on the character, Anthony Hopkins did such a wonderful job in the film version of Silence of the Lambs but for the show Mikkelsen's version works better.
There really is something a Mikkelsen's Hannibal Lecter. He is perfectly cast, as he effortlessly brings to life the sophistication and savagery of the character. Impressive.
Everyone is so good! Laurence Fishburn kills as Jack Crawford. Raul Esparza is simply sublime. I do wish they would do more with the female roles. I hate that Caroline Dhavernas' Alana Bloom is only there seemingly to be jerked around.
I love Jack Crawford's relationship with his wife Bella (Gina Torres) there is something so sad about Bella's inevitable death and the very real grieving process between the two of them
