First sparring match in almost a year, with a girl from a rival university. She was a bit more experienced than me, physically stronger, and at the top of her game. what about kendo --a little less dangerous for the knees?

you just need another activity to give you an adrenaline rush like you do with the other sport.

I considered kendo once, but the fees and equipment prices scared me off. Silat is so much cheaper...

And it's not really all about the rush, I think. I'm pretty close to my teammates, and I do enjoy silat as a distinct martial arts form - there's a lot of stuff I like about it that other martial arts won't offer me. So I think I'll stick with it for a little while longer, and then hopefully retire with my knee intact.
