the saying: "there's more happiness in giving than there is in receiving." means that if you don't accept the generosity of someone at least once in a while (once a month is reasonable), you're depriving that person the opportunity to feel the happiness in giving. maybe offer to cook or give a foot massage or something that shows thought/effort to compensate at another time (that could be your opportunity to be giving).
Well, the thing is, he's buying gifts for me all the time - snacks, drinks, other random things...I started drawing the line at having him directly pay for my stuff, so that I didn't feel too bad about it...
But yeah, I can see that he really does enjoy doing this sort of thing.
