Blah blah blah boring life stuff feel free to skim over
Everybody's been raving about Rapunzel, so it seemed like a good idea to check it out. Na'im's definitely not averse to watching Disney movies, but when I mentioned to him that Mandy Moore was voicing Rapunzel, he (as I expected) got very enthusiastic about it. I'm almost jealous of Mandy...
And yes, it was a lot of fun. Even if I felt the need to deconstruct every plot and characterization element in my head (I have got to stop spending so much time on TV Tropes). Which was pointless anyway because the ultimate conclusion was "ah crap it's a freaking Disney movie". But whatever, I had a good time, it was fun and light without being completely cliched, and the characters were actually really likeable (unlike, say, Sorcerer's Apprentice..). I might get the DVD.
Or maybe not. When the credits rolled Na'im saw the name for the guy who played Flynn and went..."Oh my God...It's Chuck!" and spent the next few minutes in a minor geekgasm. From that I'm assuming the movie is now on his to-buy list, if it wasn't already there. I'm fine with borrowing...
Had dinner. And ice-cream. Ice-cream's always a good way to end the day. *emphatic nodding*
Oh wow his MSN display pic is the scene where they're in the boat with the lanterns in the background. Because he thinks it was really sweet. This guy's more of a romantic than I'll ever be.
Probably not going to see him for a while because 1)He's going to be pretty with his Honours project and 2)I am getting too broke to go out. And when he offers to pay for me I'll go "FUCK NO!" Well, except without the yelling because that would be too embarrassing in public and without the expletive because it's not very nice to swear at someone who offers to pay for you...And anyway, in conclusion, I need a job.
