these are all really nice, i like especially the red-winged blackbird, where i live always a sign of open water nearby.
you must be really patient to get so many good shots of such lively models. i'm remined of the passage in audubon's diary about how much easier it was to paint a bird once it had been shot and nailed to a plank in a "lifelike" manner.
Thanks. The red-winged blackbird always reminds me of summer. Where I grew up... there wasn't any open water nearby... just corn fields!
It wasn't so much a matter of patience... since I didn't have a particular goal in mind... just to get out in the wetland area and spend some time with my new lens and see what happened.
that's pretty funny really. i'm in the middle of missouri. i just meant that the red wings always nested around ponds, i always think of them sitting on a cat tail. i'll have to be more careful in my choice of words and try not to say "open water" around people living in seattle. my idea of open water is that you can skip a stone on it three times before it hits the other bank.
i'm doing fine, thanks. the heart adventure is ancient history, and i'm now pursuing the spine surgery that caused me to fall into the clutches of the cardiologist in the first place. gettin' old is hell.
