If they live in Texas, I've yet to see them. There used to be a pair that lived along a dirt road between my folks' house and town. They've been there every year for at least the past...14 years or so, but that's in the Willamette Valley.

i love that second one with the little bird on the cattails. They're all radiant sharp closeups of beautiful birds, but that cattail one is the most interesting photograph. The perfect selective focus, the dynamic imbalance, and the color are great. This photograph speaks to me of the truth of the life of the bird.

The spirit was there and you expressed it beautifully.
