Ok, I hate meta generally, so this is as close as I'm going to get. :D I'd like some general thoughts from the assembled populace though in regards to Merlin's *actual* competence as a manservant once we get into S2

he hs improved a lot but when he stuffs up he does it spectacularly. It's mostly banter & has been Arthur's way of telling him "I'm keeping you close" for so long it's part of their ritual. That's how I see it.
Hard to say, really! We've seen him doing less and less servant-y things, I think. Perhaps it would be fair to say that he's getting better at getting his chores done, but not necessarily more competant at them? For example, he can clean Arthur's armour, and muck out the stables, and wash all Arthur's clothes in a morning, but he won't necessarily polish the armour until it gleams, the stables won't be fragrent and airy, and the clothes won't be pressed to perfection. I think I'm trying to say, more efficient, not necessarily 'better'. Maybe??!
He's too intelligent not to be getting better at things, though he will still occasionally have problems with clumsiness. I think most of his remaining problems will boil down to time keeping issues cos he is trying to do too many different things.
