It's been ages since I last read a popslash story, but apparently Howie/Brian continues to be too powerful a draw for me to resist. I adore what you did with Brian's characterization in this story: he's sweet and funny and just snarky enough. The line I'll kiss Howie and you'll be happy, you'll shut up and I'll be happy. And Howie'll be, well, Howie just looks kind of scared right now, but two of us will be happy. And two out of three? Well, it ain't bad." made me squeal with glee, and his later joke about incest being the new experience for next year completely broke me.
I also really love the way you wrote the group dynamics; it's wonderful to see a story that depicts their extreme closeness without allowing their relationships to degenerate into parody. Also, the slow and confused path that Howie's and Nick's relationship takes is just perfectly enjoyable. Thank you so much for sharing this!
a friend recommended this fic to me, and since it had Howie I thought I would give it a try.
