My thoughts about the y!gallery situation.

When I say I love y!gallery I mean it, as I’m sure other people do.
I was refreshing and refreshing the website 24/7 hoping it would be back for its 7th birthday. A little bit sad when that didn’t happen but optimistic it would come soon.

But then it didn’t, and I got… angsty. I’m a curious person by nature and then I began to find *the posts*.

hmmm. wow. if you take whats been said for face value it seems like a major cat fight is in progress. i looked up some of the tumblr links, and all i can say for sure is that the mods kinda hate each other. lol.

you know, honestly, i dont mind the advertisements. i feel like you have to be realistic about running a site like this. its a niche community and funds are needed to run it. I am opposed to the paying for Y! thing, though. Not because of the money, because i do not trust the mods to give me my moneys worth lol.

well~ there has been advertisers for a while (I don't date to say "forever") and that seemed to be enough~~~ .:shrugs:.

yes, that's what I mean, or even the "rightful owner" for the hacker. Someone else was saying on tumbrl she made the account--or at least it was her idea--

why did I thought it was BS? Because of a conversation and I thought the timing was just too much of a coincidence.
Please, do remember the only thing "I know" is based on rumors, looking for the outside it seems like the mods are having a war (terminator style) so I thought it was weird suddenly "no one had access to it" and the only few updates we were getting were coming from the homepage.

That's why I'm asking people to wait, today, right now... you read the posts and the panorama seems devastating to the point I almost want to cry. But at the other hand I know you guys are already testing the site so maybe this was just a lot of dust, we won't know things for sure until it settles down.

oh~ just to make something clear (maybe you did understood that way but~ just to make it clear XD) I'm not saying lyiint changed the password and said it was hacked... actually I'm thinking the other way around >.>

but it's not like I firmly believe there was no way it was hacked... I mean, if it was given back to her but she can't access because the address is wrong I think the situation deserves a huge facepalm! XD

what worries me is that from outside it looks like it there was a coup d'etat to become a dictatorship. I don't think people would complain --or at least I wouldn't-- if monetizing the site would be a collective decision but it looks like the decision was taken by 1 person who worked towards that goal. which makes it 2-3 people out of~ how many mods?

Personally, I'm trying to be patient and ignore all the drama. I believe the Y!Gallery staff all want the site back just like we do, and I think anything else is a mixture of boredom and drama-lamas. Last thing I want is to lose Y!Gallery and all the wonderful people, art, and fiction there.

All we can really do is wait it out.

it seems like it is, but I don't know to what extend OMG yes! this seems like suck a political drama, it's scary~ it doesn't help I have friends who work in politics and sometimes they tell me how stuff gets done/moves

honestly? no, because I don't know any :S if you find an other one do let me know ;___;
