✿ Ursula Vernon put out a short novel recently called Nine Goblins. I've been a fan of her art and comics for years, but never got around to reading any of her writing beyond snippets she'd posted in her journal. Well, this book is awesome. Awesome sense of humour, very light and entertaining. Rather Pratchett-esque. If you can drop the four bucks ( Read more... )

The Nordic strip was kind of bland, yes. (This reminds me I've got some old, old, old Hetalia!Denmark drawerfic hanging around in my hard-drive somewhere, from five years ago. ...It's probably better if it stays as drawerfic.)

"all the stuff you have on it is boring"
Wow, that's kind of a jerky thing to say. Obviously it's not boring to you if it's on the list.

Yeah. Oh well, it isn't as if this will be the last volume (probably) so there's always the future!
(And while you might think that drawerfic should remain drawerfic, I would still be interested in it ;p )

Jerky + christmas + my family are all things that go together, unfortunately. (They're always very, uh, like that when it comes to my interests)

Oh! I realised why it felt so bland: there's nothing to indicate they're nations, and not just people with unusual names. (Maybe, if I find it. It might still exist only on my old computer and that could be a problem. alos, iirc, it exists in both French and English, so lol/facepalming/idk/omgwtfbbq/headdesk/etc.)

That sounds awful and awfully familiar. Hum, is there a way you can ask for things you need, instead of things you want? Get them to buy you socks and things and use your own money to buy the stuff you want.

Ah, you're right! That's it. Well, and also it feels like a repeat of previous strips - how often do we need to be introduced to the Nordics, really, it isn't as if we've forgotten who they are pfff - but yeah, the lack of nation-ness is definitely a thing.

anyway.

Unfortunately, stuff that I need was also on the list. New clothes = too boring, apparently. xD (And my mother seems allergic to giving me practical gifts in general...)

I'll just need to put up with it, as I do every year, but geeeeeze. orz
