For the past few days, I've felt very blah.

But tonight, I spent about an hour having a pleasant rant about literary pairings and how much I fucking love Hektor/Andromache and Penelope/Odysseus and Sarpedon/Glaukos (I love them so much that I wrote fanfiction of them, even) and how Sir Kay is such a badass and Cuhlwch and Olwen is a damn awesome ( Read more... )

wtf, reading, flailing

I could roll with it.

I can't remember, did I link you to that fic that made me ship Horatio/Fortinbras?

This one.
It was the parts taking place after the end of the play that did it.

Though admittedly it's been ages since I've read Hamlet, and maybe if I had I'd be like "Yeah, can't see it". But anyway.

HAHA i'm the one who made that shipping preferences thread ( and yet i never replied to it myself despite the fact that intended to use it to finally ~come out with my love of some new pairing but THAT IS SO IRRELEVANT SO W/E W/E) and then when i saw your gigantic reply i was just all "oh yuu :')"

horatio/fortinbras sounds nice, in a the power of their love could rebuild denmark kind of way (though that sounds like much too optimistic an ending considering the source material)

have you ever read merchant of venice
antonio/bassanio. that is all.

ALSO YOU CHANGED YOUR LAYOUT AND I AM LITERALLY IN SHOCK BECAUSE OF IT???

Yes. :D

Alas, I had to - because of the issue with custom comment pages. With the old one, it would have left my comment-pages in black. Which is fine for a personal journal, but I post fic here sometimes, and I hate reading fic (even my own fic) with light text on black background. Comments, too. I hate that.

So I went with something a bit more suitable. It's a shame, though - I'd had that black layout ever since I first made this journal in 2002. I miss it. :c

I'm glad that I am predictable. ;)

And yeah, Horatio/Fortinbras rebuilding Denmark (somehow) does sound optimistic - maybe a little too optimistic. But I like the thought of some kind of uplifting story after the bleak ending in the source.

And nay, I haven't read Merchant of Venice! Yet. I intend to at some point.
