For the past few days, I've felt very blah.
But tonight, I spent about an hour having a pleasant rant about literary pairings and how much I fucking love Hektor/Andromache and Penelope/Odysseus and Sarpedon/Glaukos (I love them so much that I wrote fanfiction of them, even) and how Sir Kay is such a badass and Cuhlwch and Olwen is a damn awesome

It was the parts taking place after the end of the play that did it.
Though admittedly it's been ages since I've read Hamlet, and maybe if I had I'd be like "Yeah, can't see it". But anyway.

horatio/fortinbras sounds nice, in a the power of their love could rebuild denmark kind of way (though that sounds like much too optimistic an ending considering the source material)

Alas, I had to - because of the issue with custom comment pages. With the old one, it would have left my comment-pages in black. Which is fine for a personal journal, but I post fic here sometimes, and I hate reading fic (even my own fic) with light text on black background. Comments, too. I hate that.
So I went with something a bit more suitable. It's a shame, though - I'd had that black layout ever since I first made this journal in 2002. I miss it. :c

And yeah, Horatio/Fortinbras rebuilding Denmark (somehow) does sound optimistic - maybe a little too optimistic. But I like the thought of some kind of uplifting story after the bleak ending in the source.
And nay, I haven't read Merchant of Venice! Yet. I intend to at some point.
