In the thick of the night / Take me out of the cold

First - greetings to the new people I have added. I don't have a fancy "get to know me" entry like some people do (when did those become en vogue, anyway?), but regardless, everything one needs to know about me is in my profile. I've been busy recently so I might be incommunicado here and there. Now, moving on ( Read more... )

lol, only the second volume of Persepolis? How... strange. I love them both, but preferred the first one. It was pretty much how I learned about the Iranian revolution.

I know! It's so weird, I don't get it at all - we also studied Tezuka's Buddha, but only the third volume, for some reason (rather than doing the first volume of something like any sane person would). Oh, well. That prof was a bit... odd.
On the subject of Persepolis, have you seen the film? I saw it at the cinema during the time we were studying it, and quite liked it....

I still haven't gotten around to reading Buddha. The main branch of my library has the whole thing, oddly enough; I should really have it sent over.

Yeah I saw the movie first actually, then had to read the comics. It was awesome. I loved how the animation was pretty much the style of the comics only in motion. After seeing so much manga turned to anime and come out looking so wildly different, it was such a pleasant thing to see.

You should! I do plan to read the rest eventually too - I loved what I did read of it.

And that's one of the things I did love - that the style was so similar to the comic. I really should watch it again one of these days.

Hi, Yuu. ;3; We haven't talked in forever, so I thought I could say hi again~

It's lovely seeing all those flowers bloom now, isn't it?

And it's good to hear that, while you're stressed out, there's something that calms you down. <3

Hi dear. o3o <3 Haa, there's a lot of people I haven't spoken with recently... it's that time of year I guess; it's summer, but people are so busy with school (or work, or whatever). Sigh~

I'm so glad that things are finally nice outside. I'm going to do my best to enjoy it because it won't last very long.

You want a garden, a garden? But gardens means pollen, and grass to be cut and just lots and lots of work that is no fun doing. All a garden does is eating your time. In a way it's like school duties that you procrastinate and then feel guilty about.
You're crazy.

(In case you didn't notice you're I'm not that fond of gardens)

Aaah Persepolis, I just finished it, and it was so woderful!

Yes, a garden! Haa, I'm not allergic to pollen, so I don't mind. And you don't have to cut much grass if you make sure as much of the space as possible is taken up by trees and flower beds! And it doesn't take much time if you're sure to pick plants that can mostly take care of themselves, and --- yeah!

I grew up helping my mum with her flowers, and I guess I developed a fondness for this kind of thing. Though I hated doing it when I was younger. "UGH, I don't want to go help you plant flowers! :| "

ah, I love lillies of the valley too :3 Actually those are some of not many flowers that I have in my own garden(which is more like a piece of forest with wild plants only XD)

That festival sounds really interesting! In Poland we have a lot of events like this during the Solstice(I love Balto-slavic paganic stuff xD).

aaaand I have something for you :D
