I was absolutely sick as a dog this weekend. Ugh, it was horrible. It was a chest cold that set me completely out of commission; could barely even breathe. Fortunately I'm starting to feel a bit better today, though I do feel kind of dizzy in addition to being drugged and congested. Lovely

hey hey have you ever done that anon writing thing on tinychat, where every half hour we all share our word count? I think it works pretty well.
ahhh I remember reading Treasure Island in elementary, in grade six-ish? Though I can't remember a single thing that happened in it. I need to learn how to start reading for fun again ;____; I blame the internet

Nay, I haven't done it. I considered, but ehhhh. I dunno. I might just... work... and set hourly goals for myself or something. We shall seeee.
It's only relatively recently (this year) that I've started reading for fun. Mostly it's been slow going, taking me forever to finish novels (because I only pick them up when I have free time) but at least I'm reading something.

aww I think you should. There's this pressure to do it in a mild sort of way, I guess? Maybe motivation is a better word for pressure, I dunno. And the fact that it's all anon makes it thrilling
ahh what else have you read this year? Are you one of those people who only read one book at a time? I have a book to read over Easter Break so hopefully that'll get me in the reading mood (and I should really work on my reading comprehension l-lol)

Anyway, I hope you'll be getting better soon and get your homework done in time ^^ and I hate going to the doctor and then ending up paying money for nothing. It's so annoying.
I found myself thinking back to when I was younger. I went through a (very long) period where I wouldn't read anything other than fantasy and horror novels. My mum was completely exasperated by all this, and kept trying to push "classics" on me, like Dickens 'n such. I didn't want to read about "real" things - but pirates? Adventure? Now, that's exciting.
This! My mum actually forbid from reading more than one hour a day for a while, and she never stopped suggesting all these old classics that sounded so boring back then. I still rarely read anything she suggests just because of that period.

Still sick, but at least it's not as bad as it was...!
Wow, what your mum did sounds very extreme. Mine let me read for as long as I wanted to, even though she always complained about what I was reading and tried to make me read boring things. I think she just didn't really understand... just because I could read the things she wanted me to, doesn't mean I was old enough to appreciate them.
