Today my mum woke me up at the asscrack of dawn.
... Well, that isn't entirely accurate. It was actually 10 AM. But it felt like the asscrack of dawn, because I had stayed up until 2 AM or something like that, working on the Baltic index. Fortunately, it's finally finished, and I can start on other projects. Anyway, the reason that she woke me up

Tangent: I used to call him "Odie". My mind. It has been corrupted.
+ OTP for them: Odysseus/Penelope. Yeahhh when it comes to ancient stuff, I tend to like canon a lot.
+ Runner-up pairing: Athena/Odysseus - Normally I don't go for gods/humans, but man, they have chemistry, I'm serious.
+ Honorable mention(s): Odysseus/Telamonian Ajax. I can't remember where I got this one, because it's been a while since I read the Iliad, but it always made sense to me. IIRC they're like, total bros or something.
+ Crack pairing(s): Aeneas/Odysseus - Okay, I know it doesn't make sense (hence crack) but like, we have the Roman hero and the guy viewed (by the ROmans) as a falsifier. Kind of interesting, that.
+ Ship everyone else seems to like, but I don't: ... Does this even apply to ancient fandom, I don't even know

I love you, man.
And all this reminds me that I need to get copies of these books again. I had to get rid of them ages ago when I was moving cross-country, fuuuuuuck.

OKAY. MISTER SPARKLY. Man, you just had to ask about one of my bicycles, didn't you. ;p
OTP: Estonia/Finland. This is also my top pairing for the fandom in general. I have a weakness for "best friend love" type pairings, and these two are just too cute aaaaa <3
Runner-up pairing: Poland/Estonia. Some people find this one kind of random, but it isn't really. They would know each other well, due to problems with Russia and mutual acquaintance with Lithuania (and not to mention, part of Estonia's territory was under Poland's power at one point). Personality-wise, I really think it works: Poland needs someone steadfast to balance him out, and Estonia needs someone who'll help him loosen up a little. And besides all that, it's cute. I need to write these two more ( ... )

+ OTP for them: Kay/Launcelot, because I totally have a thing for the contrast between the badass manly hero/poncy romance knight (or fool/fighter, if you take more modern interpretations). Most of the basis for this is in Le Morte Darthur.
+ Runner-up pairing: Launcelot/Gawain, because they're both being compared to one another
+ Honorable mention: Launcelot/Elaine. Just because it's so fucked up.
+ Crack pairing(s): Launcelot/Chretien de Troys, also Launcelot/Sir Tomas Malory. Yes, I ship him with the authors. Don't judge me. 8|
+ Ship everyone else seems to like, but I don't: Launcelot/Gwenyvere. Okay, it's canon, but GODDAMNIT I CAN'T STAND IT. Launcelot is supposed to be a good night - if he's so great, why does he act dishonourably? And this relationship is definitely dishonourable. I could buy him being awesome if it wasn't for this, but no. And I hate that people try to justify this relationship. Adultery and treason are not okay.
