"I expect your payment soon. That includes chronicling the events of this world as well." Yuuko's paper butterfly told her in a ghostly voice, the paper fluttering toward her.
Yuu-chan sighed and nodded, the only response she was capable of giving at the moment. It was enough. The butterfly fell to the floor, harmless paper again. It no longer even resembled the shape of a butterfly. She sighed again, not bothering with the scrap of paper now littering her floor. It had merely joined several dozen others. She has just spent the better part of three days chronicling the events of three different worlds. Now she was being asked to spend at least four more hours chronicling the events of her own world. Yuuko could be so cruel sometimes. She would have to tease Watanuki mercilessly later on to get back at the witch. Not that that made any sense. It didn't matter to her, though. Teasing Watanuki was the closest she got to outright teasing Yuuko. Besides, his reactions were funny and he made her feel better. Watanuki was proof that she wasn't the only puppet dancing to Yuuko's strings.
Yuu-chan glanced at the ancient book on the desk before her. The desk was strewn with papers, some crumpled, some straight, some folded at odd angles underneath the book. The book itself was old, centuries older than her appearance. The borders were hand painted calligraphy that would've been considered priceless even in the time it was created. On the right page was a beautifully hand painted drawing of what appeared to be an ancient version of her home. Not this dimension, which she'd been trapped in since Yuuko called her across time and space, but her actual home world. Beneath the picture was a caption, the elegant handwritten calligraphy in an ancient language only she could read.
She lifted a tired hand and ran it across the words, drawing strength from their presence. She glanced at the harmless lavender paper that had once been a magically enchanted butterfly from Yuuko. She considered scribing the events later on; but no. She wanted her wish granted as soon as possible. That would only happen as long as she continued chronicling these events. She would continue scribing the worlds she had promised to chronicle, even if it meant doing it for all eternity. More than anything, she wanted and needed her wish to be granted. It had taken her so long to convince Yuuko to grant her request. She wouldn't give her an out now.
No longer remotely interested in anything else, she sits up. The orb, resting on a pedestal of a metallic dragon that had wrapped it's entire body around it to hold it in place, began to pulse. She moved to pick up the pulsating orb. It's flashing neon lights and sending a pulse that seems to vibrate the very air. Blue, green, yellow, orange, the orb glows different colors as it awaits her touch. She picks it up and peers into it, the only one able to use it so. After muttering something in another language, she puts the orb down and flips through several pages in the large, old book with hand-painted borders. She begins to scribe down something, not bothering to look at the orb which is flashing many scenes. The writing in the book appears to be written by an older hand, one at least a century before her, yet her calligraphy is in perfect sync with the rest of the writing on the adjourning page. She glances up after a moment. A glance at the orb reveals it appears dark now, almost black. Whatever she sees in it, it causes her to go back to writing furiously.

Three and a half hours later, she finally finishes her last sentence. She lifts the pen from the page, careful not to let the ink drip on the page and places it back in it's holder. Only now is it obvious that the pen she was using was an ancient pen similar in design and style to a quill pen. She looks at the pages she's written with satisfaction and a small bit of pride. She isn't surprised when the words begin to fade, disappearing from the pages. Slowly, she closes the ancient book. She cradles it in her arms for a moment, hugging it to her as if it was an infant. Finally, after several long seconds that seem to last an eternity, she places the book on the desk as gently as she can. There's other work to do, chores to finish, food to eat, a bath to take and most importantly, sleep to catch up on. Three days worth, at least. She knows she won't get half of that done, especially not the sleep. She pushes the chair back, not minding the rustling of papers strewn on the floor and stands.
The orb pulses again, the air almost shimmering with the vibrations of light. She reaches out to pick it up-only for it to go flying into the wall opposite to where she stands, cracking. There's a small explosion, which is no explosion at all. It can onyl be called an explosion in name, more crashing, swirling air than an actual explosion of fire. The only harm done is the char marks on the wall from the impact, surrounding a perfect circle in the middle, and the large crack in the of the sphere. She mutters some colorful words in the previous ancient language-literally. She's listing colors as if they were curses, even though they're clearly not. She plops unceremoniously in the chair, obviously upset. "Yuuko. We have company." She mutters under her breath when her tirade's done.
Indeed. Standing next to the orb are two tall gentlemen. They can only be called gentlemen insofar as they can be called human. They are tall, each well over 6 feet and both thin. The taller one has short, cropped dark hair and unnaturally pale skin. There's a soft sheen to it, like a pearl. His irises are a beautiful shade of turquoise but even as she stares at him, his eyes change color, turning black. His companion is tanned and slightly more muscular. He has shoulder length pink-tinged blond hair. His eyes seem to almost sparkle but they are decidedly red and have catlike pupils, narrow and oval. His ears are pointed, the tips slightly softened to a rounded point that folds down slightly. He's closer to 6' 4" maybe a little taller. His friend is at least 6' 6", maybe even 6' 7". His ears are overly round and strangely enough, his fingers are webbed. However, just like his eyes, the webbing fades, disappearing before her very eyes.
"Gentlemen. Welcome to Tokyo, Japan." She speaks, her posture languid, relaxed even. For all her complaints and weird curses, she seems completely fine with their presence. However, there is a strange edge to her voice. While her voice is soft and sweet, there is a slight underlying tension. "Can I ask what you've come here for?"
The shorter companion smiles or does something that can only be considered the equivalent of a smile. His teeth are all canines and there's a devilish, predatory glint in his eyes. His smiling is chilling, the kind you would expect a demon in a horror film to flash before he rips his victim to shreds. As it is, he doesn't move a muscle. He just stands there, smiling that unnerving smile. His companion speaks only one word.
"You."

Props to
flakedice , who inspired so much of this world. This Yuuko is based of the Yuuko in her Lord and Prince AU. Thanks, flakedice, for all the ideas. (Even if you didn't realize you gave them to me. XD)
