i love this. :) you know that saying, "the devil is in the details?" i feel like that's what makes this so right. i like that even when there's a pairing, you write all of super junior into it - because that's so true to how they are in real life (or at least how i see them), a family. donghae the little brother and jungsu the old man chum and ryeowook the surprisingly strong mother hen and zhou mi the insightful addition (but not replacement). heechul is so devastatingly snarky ("that's interesting, i think i should eat something with sugar in it") and siwon is so direct ("i love you, hyung") and donghae is so understatedly witty ("fit of manly sexually frustrated rage") and hyukjae is so sincere ("hyung, we want you to be well") and i admire how you can capture them all so completely with such short dialogue

no, thank you for your fantastic response! (i love it when i come home to find longer messages in my lj inbox!) :) and i think those things because they're true, really.

i think that's a good point, about this being almost-bandfic. that might explain better why i like it so much, even? i feel like super junior is so holistic that to write a solely pairing-driven story is to kind of fall flat and starve the story's potential. i think the charm of super junior is all of their relationships with one another and the group dynamic, more so than their individual talents or activities? and nooo, i loved your dialogue. it takes talent to convey so much with so little. i'd actually say that's one of your strengths! except the whole fic was strong, lol.

lately i've been obsessed with FYHC because seeing hyukchul moments all compiled like that, and how gloriously alive and ridiculous they are when they're together, is really something. i hope that my criticism didn't come off as overly critical! really, it was a very small distraction in the

I agree! I think what a lot of fans love about super junior is that they seem very much to be tight, and that many fans love not just siwon or heechul but SUPER JUNIOR, and adding elements of band into shipfic enriches the work. And I just love bandfic to death so it wasn't hard to be motivated into incorporating that love. :))

No no, I really liked your criticism and I think you were right. If i can make myself get inspired I think I will write a little insert of some kind between Heechul writing be happy and the kiss, i do think that feels like a bit of a hole.

yeah, there is a very high percentage of quality hyukchul fic I am just greedy and want MOREEEEE.

this was a really lovely read. i liked the quiet, matter-of-fact way u took us thru heechul's emotions from the time hankyung left to when hyukjae kisses him. heechul's explosively melodramatic in front of the camera, but there's a reserve that is so very much a part of him nonetheless, and u brought tat across wonderfully. letting his feelings seep thru his seeming carelessness makes the impact all the greater. i love heechul's interactions with everyone else, and his incomparable dynamic with hyukjae (and the eunhyuk->hyukjae at the end was perfect ♥) :D :D :D

I know heechul is loud and melodramatic just like you said, but I've always wanted to write about the little glimpses you get of him that's quiet and thoughtful and a little insecure. I'm so glad it didn't fall flat for you ._.
