For John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme:
It's not my nomination, but the Cheeky Bodyguard and the Scottish Bodyguard are different characters.

Here's a transcript of the relevant episode; the bodyguards appear in the second sketch from the top, the one titled Bodyguards. (In the transcript, they're just called Bodyguard 1 (he's the Scottish one) and Bodyguard 2 (he's the cheeky one).)

Thanks, calliatra! :D *high-five of Finnefandomness*

For the mods' peace of mind: I nominated JFSP with the two bodyguards, and they're distinct characters. I didn't nominate "others".

Not A Mod, but I think "others" just means there weren't any problems with the other nominations, but that they were there and you don't have to panic that they got lost.

Not my nomination, but The History Boys is a 2004 stage play that was adapted into a 2006 movie with almost an identical cast by the same playwright, Alan Bennett, and directed by the same director, Nicholas Hytner. So it's technically two separate works (stage play and feature film) but they're essentially the same thing in terms of characters, content, writing, plot, etc. aside from the medium.

I'd argue that the difference in the ending is enough to make them justifiably separate. Also having seen the stage play with the original cast, and then the same lot in the movie the performances were different enough that I'd absolutely want the stage version and not the movie version if I was requesting.

Thank you for providing further information - but we'd prefer to hear from the nominator to make a final decision.

Not my nomination (I'm sure this time! :p) but Tanusha "Kayo" Kyrano is only in the 2015 series.

Yeah, unfortunately it seems like the two Thunderbirds nominators wanted separate eras - so we really hope one of them speaks up to help sort out the characters that could have appeared in either.

I nominated ‘London Spy’, sorry for the delay!

I went to the same open premiere that ~perv talked about in their comment on the previous post and while I got the same feeling that it would most likely start airing within the next two weeks, BBC2 hasn’t said anything publicly to corroborate that.

What I can say is that I have seen the first episode so for me it has quote-unquote aired before the end of signups? On that front I am "sure" it's aired before the end of sign ups for me and anyone else who was there, but I can only speak for us and not what the BBC may chose to do for people who weren't there. Maybe it can be treated as a soft opening/regional release, just as canons that are out of print or untranslated can be hard to access but for those who have consumed them, they know what happened in said canons?

I understand that this is a grey area so I’ll completely defer to your modly judgement. Sorry it’s causing so much trouble!

Thanks for understanding. C'mon, BBC...

(Our current FAQ says: "Previews to a relatively small group of the intended future audience (film festivals, tv shows previewed at ComicCon, final editions of books that were given out early for review) are not considered released for purposes of eligibility." and we'd like to apply it fairly, which in this case means no unless the BBC coughs up its release date.)

A Google search shows the most recent articles & items via search results seem to be now citing November as the start date:

https://londonist.com/2015/10/sneak-peek-london-spy
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4108134/board/nest/248985436?ref_=tt_bd_1
http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2015/oct/09/contemporary-london-becomes-a-hotbed-of-spies-in-new-bbc2-drama

Wiki still says October, though, and so do other (all older) sources, but given the lack of a concrete start date announced as yet, the Nov. date looks likely. :-/

Regarding Clyde Tombaugh from my "Epic Rap Battles" nom:
He's probably not listed because he's the guy who discovered Pluto & isn't well-known. I essentially omnomed a fight between Pluto, the guy who found it, and the guy commonly credited as "demoting" it.

Hope that clears up my snafu!

Wanted you to know that I brought up the point in an earlier post. My understanding is the character won't be approved because it's actually not in the series itself. That doesn't mean it can't appear in your request, just that the character won't appear for matching purposes.

Thank you for getting back to us. We have chosen not to accept this nomination. You can use your nominations to select fandoms and characters you would like explored, but this seems more like commissioning a specific story, which isn't really how this challenge works. I'm sorry - I hope that there are other things you will enjoy requesting and offering, including from your other nominations.
