I'll kind of miss being able to watch the list of suggestions grow. The brainstorming post was fun, though, and I like the form. ^^ Can't wait to see the final list (and correct a few bothersome errors, too). I wonder how big it will wind up, with this new system?
Actually, it's perfectly possible to keep an eye on the list as it mutates by simply visiting the nomination form page, clicking on one of the fandom-list dropdowns, and scrolling, all without actually resubmitting anything. As it happened, not one of the six fandoms I chose to submit was already in the dropdown list before I got there . . . but now all of them are, and I know this because I looked. :-)
It updates as fast but doesn't consume server resources the way reloading the nomination form does. But the fandoms on that list may not actually be nominated, even if they've just been added, because people can keep changing their minds.
Done, and thanks for getting that together - must have been a job! It worked great, though. Hopefully it's not an annoyance if people resubmitted, cos, uh, I made a mistake and then had to resubmit. Oops.
Although I am still getting a name/pseud error. I'm choosing only stuff from the drop-down box, and I have only alphanumeric characters in my pseud. The only thing I can think of is that I'm using my lj name e-mail (with the underscore) for my e-mail, but you said that was okay. It's also not in the name/psued slot!
No, the underscore should be fine -- are you putting a space in your name? The name/pseud error will only refer to a problem with your *own* name as entered. If you have a space, try an underscore.
I am also still getting a name/pseud error. This is what I'm trying to enter:
Name: Jae Gecko Email: jaegecko@jaegecko.com
...and then the fandoms I mentioned earlier. There are no weird characters in my name/pseud, so could it be reacting to the at sign in my email? Or something in one of the fandoms?
With the new coding, we'll need you to use an underscore, instead of a space. This should also make the actual matching scripts ultimately happier! It's not something that we realized before the system went live, though.
Not a problem, so much as a heads-up: if, while you're dithering on the character submission page, someone else has added characters for one of your fandoms, when you hit 'submit' the form complains that you've deleted characters from that fandom. Easily solvable with a refresh and re-entering any changes, but it threw me for a second or two.
Thanks for all your hard work! And yay for it nearly being Yuletide time again :-)

A girl in the above comments was having problems with the blank space in her name, maybe that's it?
