You know, I usually try to have some faith in humanity. I mean, you come to Canada looking for hope, looking to shake the shackles of oppression and abuse that you find in other countries, and that as a whole we are somewhat a better alternative.

And then you get cases like this, where a group of filthy, disgusting excuses for humanity rape and ( Read more... )

religion, politics

That reminds me of the girl who was killed for 'honour' shortly after I left there. She was going to move in with a friend because her family hated that she wore 'normal' clothes, and didn't want to wear a headwrap, so the dad and brother killed her. :( That was in Mississauga, actually.

Why move to somewhere with different laws and codes of REAL honour, if you're not going to actually uphold them? Fucking christ.

I know. That case made me sick.

I don't care if this makes me sound like a racist, but fucking Islam should be wiped off the planet. Or it should be regulated to one country so that they can just keep it to themselves and not pervert the rest of the world with their backwards, misogynistic culture of idiocy.

I understand. Extremists of everything ruin any chance of any good images. I don't think it makes you racist just... realistic. :/

Like, Niagara Falls is highly black in population. The majority of people here seem to be drunk/stoned/in gangs/etc... If Niagara Falls was all I had to go on in regards to black people, I'd be TERRIFIED of any black person! Luckily the lunatics seem to be stuck in certain areas here... just so long as I don't go to the store too late at night. o_o;

Ever since I learned about Islam in school, I knew that there was something...off...about it. Now that I'm learning more and more about it, I'm understanding less and less as to why it's a major religion.

There are some ASPECTS of Islam that are inherently good, but you have to sift through torrents of bullshit to find it. And the, when you look at countries ruled by Islam, you wonder what the fuck people are thinking.

Granted, American insurgence in these countries only exacerbate the extremities within these countries, but if you look at the countries before occupation, could you say it was any better? Maybe a smidge, but minutely.

Any less tragic? No, of course not. But still a perversion? Absolutely.

Something like this happens every day in places like Afghanistan, mostly because it's a lawless country ruled by a backwards and extremist regime based on religion. A man who murders a woman accused of adultery gets a slap on the wrist; there, it's his right.

When you come here, in my opinion, you are stating that you want to leave that bullshit behind you. When you become Canadian, you are bound by the laws of Canada. Hiding behind the cowl of your religion is NOT acceptable.

Of course it's no less tragic if it happened on the other side of the planet, Terry. I wasn't stating that just because these laws are acceptable there that it makes it humanely acceptable. That wasn't the point of this post at all.

Which was my point. When you swear the Canadian citizenship oath, you are leaving that bullshit behind. If you want peace and freedom from that violence, then why the hell would you bring it here?

To defend this crime on the basis of "they don't know, it's their culture" disgusts me.

When you come here, it's made plain that, hey, killing someone is a punishable offence. Like I said to Terry, it's one thing to kill someone and then openly state that you were ignorant, but to kill someone and try to hide it only exacerbates your guilt.

Terry, I find it hard to talk to you right now. Do you understand why? Because you're excusing this crime away because you firmly believe that just because they're form a different country that they don't really get the laws here. If they were white, would you still be defending them? Would you still be saying, "oh, it's a cultural thing, let's not get involved?" No. You would agree with me that it's murder, cold-blooded and filthy. But because it's considered a "cultural killing", it suddenly because less of a crime.

Bullshit.

We should never be tolerent of intolerence. But what I don't understand is these people coming to Canada to get a better life and when their daughters want to act like they are supposed to... LIKE FREE THINKING PERSONS... they feel they have the right to murder them? NO!

If I went over there I would have to conform to THEIR laws because that's the way it is... Guess what when you come over here it's the SAME THING. No one has the RIGHT to murder people here, nor beat their wife and children and if they do they get procecuted. End of the line, that's our laws. Don't like them, well stay in your country where human rights aren't uphold.

We are equals and that's that.
