Summary: One day Ryo spots his bandmate, Shige in a club working a "not-so-innocent" second job. Ryo has never paid attention to him that much, but seeing him do this sparks his interest and concerns. The 2 become closer, but what happens when things happen that not only threaten to break them up, but to seperate them forever? (This summary totally sucks...this story is hard to summarize >_<)

Chapter 8: Storm's Clearing
The next morning, all of NewS plus Shige's family were beside the transport bed, in front of the operating room area just before he went into surgery. The atmosphere was indescribable. It was a mix of nerves, worry, love, support. It was such an atmosphere in which no one had to speak for the words to be communicated. Each took turns saying words of encouragement like "Ganbatte~" "We love you".
Shige let go of Ryo's hand and was wheeled into the operating area. The doors shut and immediately Ryo's heart began to race. God...please watch over him...bring him back to me safe and sound..
The next 4 hours seemed like an eternity. Some of them talked to take their minds off the situation, but others, like Ryo and Koyama, secluded themselves and didn't talk to anyone, despite the others' efforts. They sat, leaned over, chins resting on their fingers in a praying position. In between his hands, Ryo held the necklace. Please..please God.. His heart didn't slow down from a racing state the whole time. His body felt cold and the longer it went on, he shook even more.
The doctor walked out with an unreadable expression on his face. They all ran up to him. Please...please...
He smiled. "Don't worry, everything went well. He's a strong man."
Everyone hugged and cried tears of indescribable joy and relief. Ryo leaned against the wall and slunk to the floor, face in his hands, tears overflowing. Thank you....thank you...
"He will have to remain in the hospital for about 5 days for evaluation and monitoring. But after that, if everything goes as planned, he can go home."
"Thank you! Thank you sir."
"It's my pleasure. Oh, and I know you're wondering about work. He will need to undergo rehabilitation but after that, he should be able to return to work with no problem. I would suggest taking it slow, however. For example, not a full concert or anything but as long as he's feeling up to it, rehearsals and a performance should be perfectly fine. In about 5-6 weeks."
The members hugged, smiling wide. "Yes!! That's great news~ Thank you so much doctor."
The doctor laughed at Tegoshi and Massu who were jumping up and down in a hug.
Yamapi laughed, slightly embarassed. "Guys...guys, hey...control yourselves!" Everyone laughed at this.

After a while, Shige woke up, groggy and medicated. He looked around, seeing the room empty, until he laid eyes on Ryo who was holding his hand next to him, looking at him and smiling.
"Morning sleepyhead~" Ryo leaned down and kissed his hand.
"...R..Ryo~" Shige said in a raspy voice.
"Shh...it's okay. You did so well in there baby, I'm so proud of you. Everything went perfectly, you're gonna be okay." He smiled.
A tear fell from Shige's eye and he smiled as well. "Thank God..."
They stayed like that for a few moments, crying and smiling at eachother.
"Hey, Ryo...where is everybody?"
"Oh, we all hadn't eaten all day, and so they went to the cafeteria. You should have seen Pi and Massu, they almost ate Koyama."
Shige giggled. "Oh wow~....But what about you?"
"I didn't want to leave you...I was afraid if you woke up and didn't see anyone you would be scared..."
"Ryo...you know..you're so thoughtful and caring now...not like before."
Ryo shot up. "Oi! I've always been this way. Perfect in every sense of the word"
Shige laughed. "Oh here we go with the "sexy Osaka man" stuff.."
Ryo frowned at him jokingly.
"SHIGE!!! YOU'RE AWAKE!!" Tegoshi came running in, followed by the others.
"Shhh!!" Koyama pulled him by the back of his shirt, stopping him from attacking Shige. "Calm down!"
"Gomen~....." He looked down shamefully but then looked up and his expression changed to smiling in a split second. "You're awake!"
Koyama walked to the other side of the bed. "Hey, Shige. How're you feeling?"
Shige smiled. "Groggy...and drugged..." Koyama laughed.
"C-Can I go back to work with you guys?" Shige said worriedly.
"Yup! The doctor said that after you go to rehab and recover for 5 to six weeks, you can come back! Isn't that awesome?!" Massu exclaimed, excitedly.
"He's just happy because he just ate a big lunch." Pi laughed.
"And half of MINE!" Tegoshi said, pouting.Everyone laughed.
Things are back to the way they should be.

During the next 6 weeks, everyone worked together helping and supporting Shige through the rehabilitation period. He was able to do a few photoshoots and magazine interviews. He also practiced for their next single "weeeek". Rehearsals went by smoothly. Slowly but surely, things were going back to normal. Ryo stayed at Shige's apartment most of the time. Their love became stronger with each passing moment. They had been through so much together in such a short period of time. If they learned one thing from this experience, it's that no matter what life throws their way, they will always overcome it together.

It was the morning of November 2nd, and it was Shige's first live performance since the surgery.
"Are you nervous?" Ryo asked as they got dressed.
"More excited than nervous I think." Shige said, fumbling with the plaid scarf, trying to tie it around his waist in a way that it wouldn't fall off. "Damn scarf!"
They went out and the crowd went wild. They were surrounded by 400 fans on a circular stage and the fans were all cheering around them. The performance went extremely well, except for Koyama almost being pulled into the audience. Shige couldn't contain his excitement about being on stage again. It felt so right. Jumping up and down singing with his lover and his friends...that is where he belongs. And Shige couldn't be happier.
Afterwards, they were all walking backstage, still on a high from the amazing energy the crowd gave them during the performance.
"Koyama, daijoubu? I looked over at you and you were all 'WHOOSH' being pulled into the crowd!" Tegoshi exclaimed, demonstrating the "whoosh" by leaning back with his arms in the air.
"Uh yeah, I'm okay. I was kinda surprised though..all of a sudden all these girls started grabbing me!"
"What's wrong with that?" Pi smirked. "Na, Ryo-chan?"
Ryo laughed awkwardly. "Uh..yeah..."
That was still an issue they didn't face yet....telling the rest of the members about their relationship.
Ryo and Shige shared a dressing room, as always. And as always, they were "helping" eachother get dressed in their normal clothes. And their lips "accidentally" met when one of them "tripped". At least that's what they would say if anyone happened to walk in.
They broke the kiss, pulling away slightly. Ryo ran his finger over the scar Shige had on his chest. "It doesn't hurt anymore, right?"
Shige shook his head. "Nope."
"You know...I think the reason everything went well was because your heart is so strong. And so full of love and kindness..Nothing could ever defeat it."
Shige smiled and pulled Ryo's head closer and kissed him again. Ryo's hands ran down Shige's chest and started to untie the scarf around Shige's waist.
"Hey guys," the door opened "after next weeks sho-WOAH!" Tegoshi closed the door after seeing what was happening inside.
"What's wrong?" Pi asked as the others followed behind him.
"Ni..Ni..and..Shi..Shige..." Tegoshi was too shocked to speak.
Koyama's eyes widened, figuring out what was going on. "Ano," he laughed nervously "it is a dressing room, heh..so it's normal..." he tried to sound convincing.
"No no no no not normal. That was not normal...."
Shige and Ryo quickly got dressed and opened the door, embarassed. "Um.."
"Explain, you two....what's going on?" Pi asked, confused.
Shige eyed Koyama who just shrugged and mouthed "I'm sorry"
"We're...kinda...dating...eachother..." Ryo mumbled, looking away.
"EH??" was the response.
"Since when??" Massu asked, wide-eyed.
"About 2 months ago..." Shige said nervously, trying to read the others' expressions.
The others just stared at them.
"Come on guys, it's no big deal! They're happy, that's all that matters, right?" Koyama tried to back the 2 of them up.
They all talked for a while, and everyone came to accept it and supported them.
"Thanks guys..." Ryo and Shige both smiled, happy that their bandmates supported them.
"Ne~ are you guys in LOOVE~~?" Tegoshi teased, nudging them. Ryo pushed him away, embarassed. "Stop!"
Everyone laughed at Tegoshi, who was teasingly attacking Ryo.
"So..how did you guys get together?" Massu asked curiously.
They both froze.
"Eh?"
They looked at eachother and then back to the others.
"Sorry...but that's our little secret."

A/N: Done! I would never kill off anyone! =O Don't worry lol. I was rewatching the Music Station performance of "Weeeek" from Nov.2nd and I realized how amazing that would be if it was Shige's first performance back. And plus during the interview part there was major Nishikato action!~ Well not really, but they were sitting deliciously close and their knees kept touching *squee* I don't even know what the interview was about lol I was too busy staring at them xD. This chap wasn't as fluffy as the last chap of "It all started with a Photoshoot" but it still had some fluff. ^^ I think I have a thing with dressing rooms. XD Lol. Thank you all for reading!
