While Jirou-chan and I were waiting to be let in to work today, we noticed a stray patron wandering around in the library.

One of the circ supervisors saw him, as well as the guy that handles the library's A/V equipment.  Instead of them unlocking the doors so he could leave, he exited through the doors that were supposed to have been locked.

Seriously? I mean, I would call the campus police if there were people running around in a building before it was officially open. Especially when there is no one around. It's a liability to the school and to you guys. WTH people. They remind me of the customer who call in at work before we open or after we close. We have a bloody voice message that prompts to play when customers call, but apparently people just ignore it and end up asking us when we open/close.

I had a woman who called this morning at 720 or so and asked about a book. Our systems were down, so I couldn't check it, so she was like "well, can I buy it if I go there and find it." I say sure and then she asks if we were open. .... SERIOUSLY??!! No business other than a coffee shop is going to be open before 8 AM. And the voice thing clearly said we open at 9. I think half the population just ends up opting for stupid instead of trying to use their brains. orz

Ah! Liability! That's what I was thinking of but couldn't think of the word. XD

People like that lady are why we don't answer the phone at all before opening or after closing. xD The only phones that do get answered are the supervisors direct lines.

It kinda sucks now, though, because they've done away with the "staff only" line and gave it to a supervisor. x.x;; And they don't answer each other's phones, usually.
