That'd make sense, except for the fact that the same people come and go more than once sometimes.

Maybe they didn't learn their lesson the first time. I know I kinda didn't.

...or the scientists just like screwing with us.

That sounds more like it. Besides, I'm not ready to die just yet.

I doubt any of us are. 'Death' in this case seems to be our return to our respective worlds.

Well, yeah, neither am I. I'm just saying it's kinda similiar to it.

Time isn't anywhere near as linear as most like to think.

And you're right, that would be giving the scientists far too much credit -- and on the other hand, you don't think it's incredibly self-demeaning? You have to rely on the actions of others to provide you with the ability to examine yourself? To make yourself into a 'better person'. That's a job that belongs to no-one -- a religious figure, scientists -- except yourself.

That said, people are awfully fond of imagining there's a specific time and place for it beyond their life in the present.

Well, I don't know much about chronology, so I'll just have to take your word for it.

I dunno, though; most things need some sort of trigger or catalyst or whatever to get moving. Why shouldn't self-examination be the same thing?

Why shouldn't you take control of your own life?

I do take control of my own life. But if there's no reason to start looking in at yourself, why would you? Most people are way too lazy to bother doing that until they're forced to.

It's an amusing idea, if inaccurate.

Really? How so?

None of us are dead, for one thing. Many of us also are blameless in terms of sin.

Nobody's blameless when it comes to sin. But the purgatory thing was really morejust drawing a similarity.
