Ya know, I did some reading while I was back home, and this place kinda reminds me of the state of purgatory. That's, um...'the condition of purification or temporary punishment in which the souls of those who die in a state of grace are made ready for Heaven'. Basically, being stuck somewhere until you're ready to properly die.
It kinda makes me think that we're supposed to be pursuing some sort of higher purpose while we're here, so we go back to our lives with a better perspective on things. [Scoff.] But I think that'd be giving the scientists way too much credit. Even if it fits the mould way more than some 'social experiment'.
Doesn't exactly help that we've got lots of...old friends here, too. The potential to see anyone you've ever met in your life is kinda staggering.
