It's lame but I find keeping the TV on low helps. Because TV will save you.

And you're right, anything with visuals and audio can help distract the brain. I ended up listening to some music to ward it off. Nothing is too lame when it comes to protection in the dark, scary night!

I couldn't sleep last night either! When I finally did fall asleep, I dreamt I was in a plane with glass all around and no seatbelts. Not a nightmare per se, but creepy anyways.
Strange coincidence. Perhaps someone is releasing something in the air in CA?
