As you have probably heard in some news (I guess you have, because even Japanese customers of the restaurant I'm working in recently react less randomly on my country's name), Poland has lost quite a number of politicians in a plane accident in Russia, including the president and his wive. You could also get a good job where they constantly sign how much they need you and... is it really ten years? I know it's hard but I thought it was a little easier.

Anyway. Voting is important. I've never missed an election date... just this sunday there was one and since the biggest parties all fail hard (they fall back instead of making progress!)
I did my job on voting a smaller party - like thousands of other people did, so now the power of the big parties is wavering. And I feel proud since I contributed.

You should give your vote to the smaller evil too. Europe would love to see Poland making more progress, and you've got a chance to help. Especially after the plane crash, I think it's a good time for changes?

getting a job where they really need me is hopefully my way of getting the pleasure of bi-annual visa renewal instead of going straight back to Poland or wherever, as long as it means out of Japan. Getting the permanent stay permit is hard and even marrying a Japanese itself doesn't guarantee it. The marriage has to go on for years, it helps if there are kids (if you are a guardian of a minor that has Japanese citizenship they won't throw you out), and I'm not sure it is still exactly 10 years, but I know it was at one point, and knowing that the ruling party has changed for the first time in last 50 or so years, I'd bet the new government is busy making changes of greater importance to Japanese ( ... )
