Had an MRI yesterday morning. Verdict: do not move at all and call the neurosurgeon Monday morning. Apparently it is pretty serious, so now I am in pain and worried. Not to mention, getting my family to pick up the slack of me being immobile is like herding cats.

Anyway, hopefully I will have some answers tomorrow.

Ok, I've either missed something, or am being a complete space cadet. What the #$# is going on??

I have weird neurological crap, and have had my fair share of lying immobile and in pain, so if you want to vent, drop me a line, eh?

Hang in there, and good luck!

Hugs. I know your pain, and am thinking of you! If there's anything I can do, just gimmie a yell!

Just wanted to say you're not alone. I herniated my L4-L5 disc in 2003 and had surgery to remove the portion that was pressing on nerves. It took about 6 months to fully recover (so I missed fighting at Pennsic that year), but after that I was back to riding and fighting as well as ever.

I just have two pieces of advice: 1) If you get pushed off for months by the neurosurgeon you are referred to, keep calling around until you can find one who can see you - even if your health insurance requires a referral from your PCP you can usually get them to put in a referral after you've found someone with an opening, and 2) most importantly - do the physical therapy after the surgery: not only will it help you rebuild from the surgery, they will also help strengthen you and teach you how to move properly so it won't happen again.

Thanks. I have an appointment Wed and everyone says the surgeon is excellent. Things are moving pretty quickly.
