*cackle* *rub hands together* Yes, it is!

This poem has a slow build as Fiorenza's quiet village life turns up clues to a mystery, and now the villain is onstage...

I've linked to the list of unsold poems and "Third Road Signs" from my account on Twitter (@miladylibrary). Can we have the rest of the poem now, please? :)

>>The Binotto apples were in season,
deep rose-red with the flavor and scent of roses.<<

Between this line and the Snow White references, I was reminded of the story of "Snow White and Rose Red". However, as no ingrate dwarfs were involved in the poem, it's just a random association.

It is a Snow White reference! It's just being told from backstage, as the wicked Queen had to get her poison apple from somewhere and has come shopping in Fiorenza's village. Snow White and company are simply offstage from this perspective.

Yes, it was pretty apparent that the poem was related to the story of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", but it's unrelated to to "Snow White and Rose Red", which is a different folk tale altogether. It was the rose red apple that got me thinking about that story. (Yes, my brain makes random intuitive leaps that can be hard to follow. Can't help it. :P )

Oh, right. Sorry. My brain is full of steamworks today. I'm trying to summarize an extremely different version of world history and science.
