This poem came out of the December 7, 2010 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by prompts from
natasiakith and
janetmiles.
Here the waters of the Earth are personified as women. While not vulgar, this poem is rather wanton, so I'll put it below a cut.
after the humans
the rain let down her hair
and the aquifer took a long deep drink
and the lake rolled over in her sleep
and the fog lay down on the green grass
and the dewdrops danced in a fairy ring
and the snow caught the wind on her tongue
and the hail threw stones at glass houses
and the glacier kicked off her high heels
and the waterfall flipped her lace skirt at the sky
and the river swung her hips as widely as she wanted to
and the whirlpool moaned her way through an orgasm
and the marsh fanned her sweaty face as she laughed
and the ocean unlaced her corset with a sigh of relief
and the waves dug their bare white toes into the clean sandy beach
and it felt so good at last
