Here I sit, knitting to-be-felted catnip mice for selling on my Etsy account prior to getting ready for work.  And several things occur to me:

1.  The bloody size 10.5 dpn needles (oak, very sharp, 7" long) keep ending up under me every time I sit down on my bed.  I could leave them across the ROOM and they'd end up right under where I'm sitting ( Read more... )

knitting, she's being weird again

Heh. I'm going to try and take my knitting on the plane with me. I have a print out from the TSA page saying that knitting is allowed as a carry on. But they warn you that your needles may possibly be classified as weapons, and to bring a SASE to mail them back to yourself.

...Also, you have been reading too much Conan. (you should totally send the idea to Aoyama, it would make a great Ran focused mystery)

Glad to hear that your brother is doing better. That's great holiday news.

^__^ Happy knitting and traveling! What're you making? I've knitted the majority of the gifts I'm giving this year and have ventured into felting, only to find that it's horribly addictive. So far I've felted a pair of slippers, a fruit-shaped sachet with individually-knitted leaves, a toy squid and several mice; got another project I can't talk about because the recipient reads this, but it'll be felted too.

I'm making scarves for my parents. Dad's is a basketweave pattern like the one I made myself, it's about half done. Mom's I haven't started on yet, but it will be a ribbed scarf with a hole you can pull one end through.

Lucky for me, I'm doing christmas with my parents AFTER christmas, so I can just postpone it till whenever the scarves are done.

Seriously, get with me and we'll hook you up with a knitting bag. And possibly some needle caps.

I'd love to, just to say that I know somebody that pimps knitting bags. And do they even MAKE needlecaps for size 10.5? I have some of the smaller ones that look just like little pink traffic-cones, but... that big? That's pretty big.

I actually found a pattern for punchinello knitting needle caps and it's a knitted cover that you stuff a cork into. Seems like that could be whatever size you need.

So, if you're really good, you could use the needles and not even leave a visible mark. Hmmm. Me thinks a meme a bit agone was foreshadowing something...

we shall wait and see what develops.
