you should check out teaching for america. i have a neighbor who did it (ironically he spent about 3 times as much on his art history degree than i did..). you go to some kind of workshop for a summer and then you get placed in a needy high school. i think you have to commit to two years and i dont know what choice you have in where you end up but its a good place to go somewhere different, do something non profity to totally beef up your resume, get paid (i believe the stipend and pay is pretty good) see new places, and most importantly help kids get a good education. the program prefers recent college graduates with any type of BA or high degree.

or you know.. you could go teach english in a remote village in japan.

I've heard of Teach for America, but I haven't looked into the details of it yet.

I know two people who are in Seoul right now teaching English to little Korean kids, and even though I've been aiming to teach older kids, that would be a good resume boost. And I know someone else from high school that got a job teaching on an American military base in Germany.

But I'm looking at doing a study abroad this summer just for something new. I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford it though because of how crazy GM is right now.
