I can't believe it's been so long, but things are happening!

I got a horse! Her name is Veronica. She is a copper bay with dark black markings and no natural white anywhere on her--she does have one spot of white where hair grew in from an old saddle sore. She is 11 years old and just taller than a pony. She is very finely built--some people see her as a quarter horse but to some friends and a little to ( Read more... )

*Squeeeeelll!!!!!* Congradulations! I'm so happy for you. I was hoping that you managed to get her and that you were out riding. I can worry about you a bit less now. I'm somehow sure that you two are a great match for each other. Vernie sounds like a dream come perfectly true for you.

Happy Hugs for the mommma and a welcome carrot for Vernie.

Oh my gosh! I forgot about my previous post. Are you ready for this? Vernie is NOT the horse I was writing about before. She is a completely different horse in the same circumstance almost exactly including a previous injury. The only difference is that Sugar was a reining horse and Vernie was a hunter jumper! Also Sugar was gray and Vernie is bay. Sugar is still not quite for sale and not quite not for sale. I found out her owner is big time flaky that way.

O wow that makes everything even sweeter in the wonderful department.

Although, I'm sorry for poor Sugar, flaky owners tend to make for weird lives for poor animals. It's cuel to let any creature live unsure who will always be there for them. IMO and it sounds like Sugar is forced to live wondering when/ if her life is gonna be turned upside down all the time.

Still I'm damned happy for you.

*echos kliklikitty with a HUGE SQUEEEEEEELLLLL!!!!!!* That's so awesome hun! Color me totally green with envy, it sounds like you have finally found your perfect horse. Vernie sounds an absolute dream. I have a good feeling that the two of you are going to be wonderful for each other.
Western training is soooo good for doing trail riding. I hope that you two have a good time just hacking out on the trails around you. I'm still about 5 years away from getting my own horses, but the goal is actually in sight, now. Just one more year and I'll hopefully be done with my nursing program, then I'll start doing some travel nursing and earning some decent money. Who knows, I might just end up on your side of the country in the next couple of years!
