[Despite the appearance of the newly created battledome, there's a small child training with kunai outside of the barracks this morning. He's drawn targets on sheets of paper and stuck them to the practice dummies. Each time he throws one, it strikes the center of a target with deadly precision

[Bothered? Argilla isn't. She'll stand around watching, not wanting to distract him. It's pretty impressive.]

[He notices her but says nothing for a while. When she doesn't appear to be leaving, Itachi will finally stop and face her with a throwing knife in each hand.]

[With that kind of precision, she didn't want to chance being able to dodge, especially untransformed. She raises her hands.]

I'm sorry, I didn't realize you didn't want me watching.

I don't mind. I simply wasn't sure what your intent was.

[bothered? Nope, not really. Sheena will approach silently from behind...and a small knife different from Itachi's will sink into the center of the target farthest from him.]

[If it had been directed at him, Itachi would have deflected it. As it was, he spun and aimed a warning through at the woman's feet. Careful, you could have been a threat, it says.]

[She's still a little too weak to be a big threat. But she is smirking as she crouches to pull his kunai from the ground]

Thank you. [He retrieves her knife as well, walking over to hand it to her handle first.]

[Well, KATARA'S BOTHERED. She sees Itachi training as she's heading towards home, and hurries over.

...but it's evident as she approaches that he knows what he's doing - almost as good as Mai - so she doesn't call out. She stands a safe distance away and watches.]

[Once Itachi's reached a decent enough stopping point, he pauses to give the young woman a bow in greeting.]

Katara-san. Good morning. Did you need something?

No, I was just watching you practice. You're very good.

[Shikamaru is content with giving Itachi his space. He doesn't turn up until later, climbing to sit in a tree without a word. Every once in a while he'll look over to see who the kid is talking to, but he has another task on his mind.

...a task which he gives up on after too much longer. Sona proved to the a snob when he talked to her a week ago, and while Nala is much nicer, she talks too much. Troublesome. Some of these elemental spirits are male, right?

With a sigh, he ends their conversation as politely as possible when he finally manages to get a word in, then calls out to Itachi.]

Oi. You've been at that for awhile.

[He has, and the smile he gives Shikamaru is a tired one. High skill level, low stamina.]

I probably should. [He goes to pick up his kunai, pulling some out of the dummies and returning them all to a small bag.]
