As for my weekend, well Friday was taken off work, so I had a not-really-deserved lie in, then went to town to run errands. Picked up an eye patch for later and Atmosphere tickets. Met altarsofgrrness, Brian and denatone in Yates

In a more serious fashion, it's used to readily identify people when skim reading, and also to distinguish between people of the same name. When I say _vimto_, I know exactly which of the Kates I know I'm referring to.
