I laughed out loud (horrible how trite that sentence seems now, instead of joyfully honest) when I saw your piano note. Ha! Ahhh.

I love your classroom, Laura. I can only hope that I'll someday have kids who will have amazing teachers like you!

The classroom does look great. I don't know about hanging the license up though... ;)

I read Where the Red Fern Grows several times because I liked it so much. Made my brother cry. I don't know about reading levels, but its a very easy read. Maybe for kids aged 10-13 or so? I don't know about it's educational value, but it was really fun. A great story. I loved reading about kids in those days because they had such a different sort of life. So many places to roam around, forests to get lost in, fields to run in, dogs to play with, etc.

Lord of the Flies probably has more potential for discussions and stuff. Definitely a harder read. But then you've read that one, so I won't discuss it further.

I am almost sure I read A Day No Pigs Would Die, but I cannot remember much about how it was written. I remember liking it, but not in an entertained and happy sort of way. I think it might be good?

thanks for caring the garden! anonymous July 9 2009, 03:59:53 UTC
your blogging skills (or posting consistency) far out weigh mine... nice pics of the garden and school! I hope the plants are producing more and avoiding death. Nice work with the piano, I was wondering how you were planning to get that bad boy out of there...! Has Rick seen it?

Rick and Chris said they'd get it unstuck. I hope they were able to do it...
